A Detailed look at the Movie Love Actually: Spoilers, Looks at each story, details I just noticed, my defense of Andrew Lincoln, Plus some theories.

Okay I'm at the stage in Quarantine where I think I'm just watching a lot of Christmas movies that I didn't have time to watch at Christmas... And I watched Love Actually... and I feel like this deserves a bit of a breakdown... so let's look at it. I'm going to give a look at every story and character and their connections... and I'll throw any theory I have with the connections also. 1) Emma Thompson and Alan Rickman- So Emma Thompson plays Karen who's married to Alan Rickman's character Harry. They have 2 kids and still seem to be in love but Harry is a little cold and preoccupied with work. He has a very beautiful secretary named Mia that we see him flirting with around the office -eventually he asks her what she wants for christmas in which she says "Something Pretty" and he gets her a necklace. Karen sees the necklace in Harry's pocket and she gets so excited that her husband actually got her this beautiful necklace. When she final...

Blogmas Day 15: Christmas Movies: Good and Bad

In general- I'm a fan of Christmas Movies. There are some that are particularly bad... and yet I still watch them every year and enjoy them... this is going to be more of me going over the worst parts of Christmas movies... and things that just kind of bother me. THE BAD  1) Santa in Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer I know people are complaining about Rudolph a lot this year... and I don't necessarily agree with everything that they're saying... but at the same time the Santa in Rudolph has some problems. He mocks a baby reindeer for having a red nose... that's not cool. So while I'm not super offended by Rudolph or up in arms about it or anything... yeah the Santa in Rudolph is not the best. #notmysanta am I right??? 2) The Grinch's Heart is Down a Size and A Half???  So in the Jim Carey Grinch movie there's a scene early on in the movie where the Grinch checks the Heart Chart and says "Down another size and a half." This means that the Gri...

Blogmas Day 12: Non Holiday Movies I love Around The Holidays

There are a lot of great Christmas Movies... but there are some movies that Aren't Christmas Movies that are just as fun to watch around the holiday season... Sooooo that is what I'm talking about I guess. 1) Toy Story Series  I love the Toy Story Series... plus what's more fun for Christmas than Toys???? I watch this movie like all year long- not going to lie... but there is something special about watching it at Christmas. It makes me feel like a kid and I can remember when Santa Clause used to bring me new toys and the excitement of guessing what it was. 2) Star Wars  I love Star Wars... and there's something nice about watching movies that you love in the comfort of your own home on Christmas... and with the new Star Wars Series being released mostly around the holiday season... it just makes sense to watch them all around Christmas. Not something you need to watch at Christmas- especially since not everyone like Star Wars... but if you do... it's fun to...

Blogmas Day 8: Christmas Movie Bucket List

Since I already did the Christmas Bucket List... here's a list of Christmas Movies I want to make sure I watch this year! 1) Merry Christmas Charlie Brown-  This is always what I like to see first at Christmas time. It just gets me in the holiday spirit and I just like the message of the Peanuts Gang learning what Christmas is all about. It also shows Charlie brown getting kind of sad when everyone else is happy for Christmas because Charlie Brown wants something more than just decorations and presents. It's super cute and one I always have to watch. I did kind of watch it already... but I need to watch it again for sure. I was setting up my new phone at the same time. 2) How The Grinch Stole Christmas- Cartoon Version  I really love this one. I did see most of this movie recently... but again- I was also on the phone and stuff... I just got the DVD recently and I'm excited to watch it again and again now instead of just when it's on TV. I also bought the Jim Ca...

Blogmas Day 4: Jingle All The Way 2 Review

Heyy guys! I didn't really mean to make Blogmas all movie reviews from me... that's just kind of how it's working out right now... but my Boyfriend actually got me the very romantic gift of Jingle All The Way 2... which we did watch together... and I think we both agree... It is a Movie... This movie stars Larry The Cable Guy as a single dad who is kind of trying to outdo his daughter's new step dad... he also kind of just wants to get his daughter what she wants... and that is a Teddy Bear called Harrison. Larry reads his daughters letter to santa and sees a misspelled version of Harrison and decides to get it for her. The only thing is... these bears are like impossible to get. Every time Larry goes to the store- someone buys every single Harrison Bear. One of the things I think I need to complain about with this movies is that there were too many antagonists... I wasn't paying the most attention to the movie because... well it isn't the most interesting...

Blogmas Day 10: I Gave The Santa Clause a Fair Chance... and...

So I never really liked the movie The Santa Clause with Tim Allen- I love The Santa Clause 2... but The Santa Clause and The Santa Clause 3 just weren't my thing. And I think the reason I never liked The Santa Clause is that I couldn't relate to it and I just kind of thought it was sad. It was sad that Santa died, it was sad that Tim Allen and his wife were divorced and overall... I just thought the movie was a little dark. But that being said... a lot of people get divorced, a lot of divorces aren't that nice when children are involved and... even though it's the holidays- bad things still happen... and that doesn't mean Christmas has to be dark and gloomy... I appreciate that about this movie... that isn't really why I liked it though... but it's a start. The reason The Santa Clause 2 is my favorite is because I love how they show The North Pole in that movie... I just like that North Pole and even though I was maybe a little older when The Santa Claus...

Blogmas Day 4: Is It Good? Or is it Christmas.

Sooo today on Blogmas we're going to talk about different movies and songs that... I'm not too sure about. I think it's hard to judge Christmas Movies because these are things I loved as a kid and... I feel like I can't judge those that well and I can't judge Christmas movies that Harshly because I really really like Christmas. Jack Frost  Soo... I'm not a huge fan of Sentient Snowman... it took me a little while to warm up to Olaf... anyone else isn't really my fave. I'm sure I'll get to Frosty in this too... Brief synopsis... this singer named Jack Frost has a happy life with his wife and his son... although he's kind of struggling at being a father because he travels a lot as a musician and he just really wants to make it as a musician... and he keeps promising his son he'll be at his games and stuff... and then he doesn't show up... and it's kind of sad that when he keeps promising to get it together and he thinks he's a...

Throwback Thursday: The Nightmare Before Christmas

I used to watch this movie a lot when I was little... and I've always loved the characters and the animation... but sometimes I wonder if the movie is maybe a little bit overrated... And I'm here to say: It is not! I actually think it might be a little underrated because I just had so much fun watching it. It was like 2 in the morning on my actual birthday when I decided to watch it... so maybe I was just in a really good mood or something... but I just really loved it. What a clever concept and just a fun idea for a movie... I just really liked it. I love Sally in this. She's just like a regular Teenager- but she's trying to do the right thing and tell Jack she doesn't think his Christmas is going to work out... but she has a crush on Jack and she sees how happy the Christmas thing is making him and ugh... just so complicated lol. Anyway I had watched a 107 facts on Nightmare Before Christmas Youtube video... I think before I watched this... maybe it was afte...

Top 10 Movies I Watch Whenever They're On TV

So I couldn't think of what to write today... but this is something that is very telling of a person. The movies that if you see it on TV, you will watch it above everything else. They might not necessarily be my favorite movies... but they're ones I get really, really excited about. 1) My Big Fat Greek Wedding  This one is my favorite and this probably is in my Top 5 Favorite movies of All Time. It's just such a good movie, I've seen it so many times I actually know every word. This is the only movie that I know every word to... unless Hamilton becomes a movie lol. It's just sooo good and so funny. I love it. 2) Any of The Despicable Me Movies  These aren't on as much as they used to be... but Despicable Me is my favorite movie ever... I could watch it a million times and still never get tired. And I also love Minions and Despicable Me 2... in that order. Despicable Me is #1 then Minions and then DM2. DM3 looks really good too, I'm so excited for it.....

Blogmas Day 17: Scribbles About Movies- Santa Buddies

So I kind of ran out of holiday specials to watch on Netflix... and I do love dogs... so I thought that this would be a fun one to watch... and it really wasn't bad... but this is kind of the bottom of the barrel as far as Netflix Holiday Specials go... and that is kind of sad. So it starts out kinda scary. There's an icicle that melts when there is no Christmas Spirit... and Santa's actual power for the workshop depends on that Icicle... it's basically a Direct to DVD version of Elf with dogs... so that's kind of what I was expecting... but its still pretty much a rip off... but it was kind of a scary scene to see Santa and Santa Paws in there saying there's no hope for Christmas except for Puppy Paws. Then we meet Puppy Paws... and we realize there really isn't much hope for Christmas at all... Puppy Paws just messes everything up to have fun and it's kind of funny... but he kind of ruins Christmas because of it. And then his dad, Santa Paws yells ...

Blogmas Day 10:The Best and Worst Christmas Movies + When To Watch Them!

So... here is what I decided the best movies to watch for Christmas and when you should watch them! There are some I think are perfect to watch Early Early on and some that are better closer to Christmas... but here they are. And I'll mention which ones to just avoid at all costs... lol. Best Early On  Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown- I've said this before and I'll say it again... this is the way to kick off the holiday season! It really reminds you of what's important and what Christmas is all about. It makes me happy to watch every time I see it too. It's just a really good movie! Santa Claus is Coming To Town- This is another favorite of mine for the beginning of Christmas because I think its a great way to get you to really believe in Santa! It answers any questions about Santa's origins and it all makes sense! I just always love this movie and they usually play it pretty early on. Its a good one! Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer- They usually play this...

Blogmas Day 8: Christmas 2015: It List

So I love making lists, I don't really check them twice...but these are just fun to do and I like doing this, especially fun for Blogmas. So yeah. 1) Green Mountain Gingerbread K Cups- This was also in my December 2015 It list... but it is delicious! Yesterday I also put some Gingerbread Coffee Creamer in it and then put whipped cream and cinnamon on top... so yummy! I like it better than the Starbucks Gingerbread I think! That is saying a lot... but yeah. Its so good! 2) Chocolate Covered Cherry Kisses- Ohhh my gosh... these are my favorite candy. I really like chocolate covered cherries, but I like these a little better because its just the cream in the middle and I LOVE THAT! Sometimes the consistency of cherries in chocolate weirds me out a bit and I feel like I'm biting a toe... this I feel like I'm just eating something with lots of goo. I have a bag in my room... and I needed to hide it cause it was too damn good. I could not stop eating it! 3) Mickey Mouse Chr...

Weekly Wrap Up: 12/12/15

Happy the world didn't end 3 years ago day! To Celebrate, I'll do the Weekly Wrap Up a day early! Or because you know, its going to effect Blogmas... lol. Favorites  Philosophy Almond and Cream Shower Gel- I love the smell of almonds... I love Philosophy shower gels... and the combo of the two is just awesome. I actually don't think they sell this at Sephora or Ulta at the moment... but I found a duo of a lotion and the shower gel at TJ Maxx. It was a little pricier than I expected from TJ Maxx... but still a good deal. And its the scent that I absolutely love. It smells soo good and almondy and warm and I just absolutely love love loveeee it! Green Mountain Gingerbread K Cups- These are soooo good. These I may like just as much as the Starbucks Gingerbread Latte... if not more. That is how good they are! I'm loving these. Another Holiday K Cup flavor I am loving are the Queen Anne Cherry Cordial K Cups... ohhh my gosh! Sooo soooo good! Thought these could be rea...

Blogmas Day 5: Shannon Watches Older Movies- Christmas Edition.

So this seemed like fun. I'm going to re-watch some holiday classics and report right back here! Alright! Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer  So this one is still one of my favorites... but can we talk about what a jerk Santa is in this? He's so mean to Rudolph as a baby!!! He's like "hey your nose is different, you can't be on my team." And then to the elves he's like "hey you guys suck. That song is awful." And then when Rudolph runs away and his parents are missing he's like "hey why did you do that? I need your dad to run my sleigh and now he's off looking for you!" Maybe if you didn't make fun of Rudolph's nose he would't have run away! But I do love the message: It's okay to be different! You don't need to be like everyone else, just be yourself! That's the best you can be. Also Yukon Cornelius is probably my favorite character, its weird that Herbie takes out the Bumble's teeth, and I would ...

Scribbles about Movies: Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever

This is going to be a weird review... there were a lot of things I liked about this movie and a lot of things I didn't like about it. Overall I liked the movie, it was cute, heartwarming and its something I can see actually watching several times throughout the years and holiday seasons. I thought the biggest problem with it was that it was wayyy wayyy too long. There is really no reason for a 2 hour long Grumpy Cat movie... It just got pretty boring kind of fast. Sooo I'll try to explain the premise of the movie... but it should be warned that this makes no sense at all. There were a lot of characters and so many stories and substories it was a bit much. The titular character of this movie is Grumpy Cat herself, voiced by the Amazing Aubrey Plaza, who redefines the word grumpy. Then there is a little girl named Chrystal who's parents just got divorced and had no friends, her mom, the elf that she flirts with, the pet store owner, all the pets, the security guy, the landl...
