Heyy guys! I didn't really mean to make Blogmas all movie reviews from me... that's just kind of how it's working out right now... but my Boyfriend actually got me the very romantic gift of Jingle All The Way 2... which we did watch together... and I think we both agree... It is a Movie...
This movie stars Larry The Cable Guy as a single dad who is kind of trying to outdo his daughter's new step dad... he also kind of just wants to get his daughter what she wants... and that is a Teddy Bear called Harrison. Larry reads his daughters letter to santa and sees a misspelled version of Harrison and decides to get it for her.
The only thing is... these bears are like impossible to get. Every time Larry goes to the store- someone buys every single Harrison Bear.
One of the things I think I need to complain about with this movies is that there were too many antagonists... I wasn't paying the most attention to the movie because... well it isn't the most interesting. I don't actually think the movie is the worst... but it's not great. But despite the movie being kind of just a simple Christmas movie... the plot was a little more complex because there were so many antagonists. The first Jingle All The Way was pretty simple- a Dad is just kind of fighting another dad to get a Turbo Man action figure that his kid really wants. As a kid I remember actually seeing the movie in theaters and really liking it... and at that age I fell asleep in most movies and I actually don't think I fell asleep in this one!
But this one was like... there were too many extra plot points and things that just didn't make sense. It was still cute and like I have the DVD now... So I'll probably watch it again... but there was just a little bit too much to it when they could have simplified it a little and had it make more sense. There are 2 antagonists that I'm not even sure if they're the same people or different people. It was just a lot.
Some positives about this movie... I think if you ever worked in retail you might be able to relate to it. My boyfriend worked retail with the Hatchimals craze... so he understood that... it didn't necessarily make it better or worse... but still. It was relatable. Plus even though it was a lot different than the first movie- it did kind of make me nostalgic for that movie. The ending was also really cute. It was maybe a little sweeter than the original movie... which I think I remember thinking of as a little bit greedy.
It's worth checking out if you can get it for like $5-ish dollars- or if you see it on TV or Netflix... but I don't think it's worth much more than that. I kind of judge bad Christmas movies a little less harshly because usually they are still pretty enjoyable... and you can usually get them pretty cheap around the holidays... so it's not too too bad.
Hope you guys like this weird review of this kind of weird movie. Lol.
Bye!
