Blogmas Day 11: New York City Christmas Date Day Story

So I mentioned a few different times that my boyfriend and I went to New York for a fun Christmasy-type of date... and things kind of went not according to plan... but we still had a lot of fun and we got a lot of stuff.

I kind of wanted to see some decorations and do something christmasy... and we kind of got to the city too late and NJ Transit is kind of too unreliable for us to have done that... so we just started shopping and the first place we went to was Kinokuniya- which is an asian themed book store... it is like right across from Bryant Park (I think?) and it has 3 really great stories of all sorts of thing. Any animae or comic related thing you could want- its got it there. They also have a lot of art supplies like things for Calligraphy or Bullet Journaling downstairs... and some biographies and just interesting books on the main level. I ended up getting one of the leuchtturum notebooks, a book on Japanese Skincare, and 2 Pusheen mystery mini ornaments. I loved the book store- but my boyfriend REALLY loved it. I was getting slightly hangry at this point... okay probably very hangry lol.

We were going to just get food right after- but we really wanted to stop at The Disney Store too... and The Disney Store was before the restaurant... so we went there and I got some Wreck it Ralph stuff and my Boyfriend got me a mug of The Mayor from Nightmare Before Christmas.... which is the cutest mug and the best way to describe my personality and what my poor boyfriend had to deal with when I was hangry lol.

Next up we looked for food... there's a really great reasonably priced restaurant I wanted to go to... I don't think this place took reservations because on the website it looked like reservations were for 6 people or more... so that was frustrating because there was a 2 hour wait for us to get in... so we didn't go there! We ended up wondering around and we found a place... and I'm not going to mention the name because idk how to feel about it. I really liked what I ate- but there was something off with what my boyfriend ate... so that was bad. I got a chicken finger thing with gravy and I got Mashed Potatoes and Mac and Cheese... and it was great... and the place was cool but we probably won't go back. But we were happy to eat and sit down... and they were like blasting RuPaul's Drag Race Holiday Edition... which was really fun to watch. It wasn't so fun to not have a conversation cause we couldn't hear each other... but still!

We also wanted to go to the M&Ms store... but we kept getting lost and we had to get to the train... so we didn't end up getting that. We did find a pop up Rillakkuma store though- so I got 2 mystery minis that actually aren't super mysterious because they have the pictures on the side... which the very helpful lady in the store told me.

Then we went on the train... and I fell asleep and it was fun and sweet and cute. Sooo... yeah. That was the day! I hope you guys like this story even if it wasn't super helpful... I just think its fun. And this was our first time going out of state together. It was cute.

Bye!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
