Scribbles About Songs: Favorite David Bowie Songs

So David Bowie is my absolute favorite singer and his songs always make me feel better when I'm sad and they make me feel what I need to feel I think... if that makes sense. I don't want to get too gushy about it... I didn't even know all of his songs that well, basically I have Best of Bowie and The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust... so those are kind of what this will be about... sorry I just kind of like to listen to singers that have been around a while just a little bit at a time so that they stay new to me. Soul Love  This is in no particular order but  this  one is my absolute favorite. I've listened to this 1,000 times. I think the lyrics of this song are absolutely beautiful. This is probably the best, most heartbreaking love song I've ever heard... and there may not be any more truthful and honest lyrics. It is just such a beautiful song... I feel like that's what I'm going to be saying about all these songs cause there's not much to say abo...

Scribbles About Songs: All Your Favorite Bands by Dawes

So I heard this song on the radio once, on the radio station my dad listens to... which I don't normally like... but this song kind of spoke to me. I feel like this song to me is what Hello by Adele is to most people. I feel like maybe because of my age and my life experiences this song makes me feel things and Hello doesn't totally make me feel things... but this one makes me miss people and things. And like he's saying that he hopes everything works out for whoever he's singing the song to... but its not like he's wishing her anything amazing. Just kind of simple things that seem like the worst things that could possibly happen when you're in high school, but then when you're a grown up... the things happen and you barely blink an eye. One of the lines is "I hope that all your favorite bands stay together." And that's a big thing for me right now. When I was in high school, Fall Out Boy, Panic at The Disco, Cobra Starship, The Academy i...

Scribbles About Songs: What Songs Do I Currently Like?

So I did this a while ago... and I'm running out of things to scribble about... lol. Still have yet to watch Aquarius! I know I really want to! But yeah. Anywhere there are some songs I've been liking... so I thought... why not! Talkin Bodies by Tove Lo- This is a bit of an older one, but I still really find it catchy. I really like Tove Lo. I think she's very talented. I didn't know that this was Tove Lo when I first heard it so that kind of shows how good of a song it is. Its quite catchy. I really like it. Fight Song by Rachel Platten- This is really good! I kind of thought it was Taylor Swift at first, but it isn't, so I think she's going to be the next Taylor. I was kind of excited when this song came out cause I knew it was going to be big and I know Rachel Platten is going places and I feel like I discovered her... like I discovered Lady Gaga. Lol. Good song! Jackie and Wilson by Hozier- This isn't one I've been hearing that much on mainstre...

Scribbles about Songs: The songs on the radio I actually like right now

There are so many songs I'm completely sick of that I prefer listening to the commercials on the radio right now... If I hear Shake it off or All about that bass one more time... ughhh. Okay here they are. Stay With Me by Sam Smith- I'm a little tired of this song, but honestly I still like it. I like it better than the new song he has out... its just good. Even though he seems like a whiney bitch in the lyrics lol. I like it. Don't by Ed Sheeran- I really like Ed Sheeran. I love this song and I like sing. These songs I probably hear at least once a day on the radio and I'm still not sick of either one. Ed Sheeran is just really really talented. He can do lots of different music styles and this song in particular is really different and catchy and good. Best Day of my life by American Authors- This is an older song but its so positive and good. I heard a really good local band called Naked Twister cover this over the weekend and I really like it. This is my moms f...

Scribbles about Songs: Stay with me- Sam Smith

Soooooooo I thought about doing this type of thing for a while... and I had some opinions about this song recently and I've been hearing it on the radio a lot... so here is what I think of this song. When I first heard it, I thought it was the most romantic song in the whole world. I didn't really listen to the lyrics. It's just so cute that he wants this girl to stay with him and that she's all he needs and it's just so lovey and romantic. Then I realize the song says "This ain't love its clear to me." And I was like woahhhh hold on back up... lemme start listening to this song some more. Basically its about this guy that has a one night stand and he needs this bitch that he had the one night stand with to stay with him. Even though its not love, which is clear, he needs this girl to stay with him. Why? Because he's gotta cry and be all lovey dovey like a lil bitch! Lol. Okay I may be being a little harsh here... but listen to the lyrics! It...

Scribbles about Songs: List of songs that could make me cry.

This is something I just find interesting. These songs don't actually make me literally cry, but they could make me cry because they're just such bummer songs. Like if I were having a bad day or something and I heard one of these songs, I would feel like nothing has amounted to anything in my life and have this ultimate empty and worthless feeling.  Dust in The Wind by Kansas- I think it's safe to say that this is definitely at the top of the list. It's sooo soo sad anytime I hear it I'm just in such a sad mood after. It's a good song and all but it is depressing! My mom tried to make me feel better once and said "well they were probably on cocaine when they wrote it." Which is a good point.  Sounds of Silence by Simon and Garfunkel- I really like this song and Simon and Garfunkel and I love this song, and now it actually makes me laugh because of Gob Bluth... But this is a deep bummer type of song. It's a really good song, but it has the ability t...
