Scribbles about movies: Keanu Review

So I saw Keanu yesterday... and its one of the most clever and funny movies I've ever seen. Probably a favorite of mine... I love it. I've never seen a full episode of Key and Peele. I don't know too much about their sketches or anything... but there were some billboards and little things in the background of the movie that I'm pretty sure were jokes from Key and Peele sketches... not 100% sure... but they were funny either way and I'm thinking they have some significance. And really... they work so well together. Its just fun to watch them together because they have great chemistry and they're so fun. And the concept for the movie was brilliant... if you're a writer or a film nerd... you've probably heard the concept of Saving The Cat. You want your hero to "save the cat" in every film to make them more likable. In Gone Girl, Ben Affleck has a cat that he saves... doesn't make him more likable... but he also didn't kill his wife. Story Time: Spencer and The Bird

So here's a cute and sad story that really did happen today. We have this big open window at my house, and my dog Spencer likes to look out the window and bark at anything he sees. But today it was a little different. Spencer was looking up at the sky and he was crying. And it was such a sad sound and we didn't know what it was. But then I said "Is there a birdy? Are you crying at the birdy?" And there was a bird on  the wire all alone... and that was sad! My mom noticed that she thought it was a Morning Dove or a Love Dove and usually those are in pairs, but it was all alone on the wire. And it was a rainy, gloomy day so it was kind of a sad day anyway... especially for a bird all alone on the wire. And Spencer kept looking up for him and barking and howling at him and scratching on the window to get out. It was really sad and really sweet that he was looking after this bird. I thought of the bird as his "Woodstock." Like Snoopy's friend Woodstock...

Scribbles About Movies: Minions!

Sooo of corse I loved this movie I give it 5 out of 5 stars, it's better than cool ranch Doritos,  it's the cutest and best movie ever. You guys know I love minions, I have a huge minion army in my room and it just keeps growing lol. Minions are my favorite. But all that aside: this movie is still amazing.  It would have been really easy to do this movie just like Despicable Me but they really made this an amazing stand alone movie without Gru or the girls. I thought that they made the backstory of the minions so interesting and different and they gave them all individual personalities instead of just having them as part of the group. Like Stuart wanted to be famous, Bob was a baby and Kevin was the leader... It was just really cute and I thought they did a great job with that. Plus they showed the minions throughout time and all of the other bosses that they've worked with and how they've evolved over time. The opening sequence was really clever and cute, a...

Fond Memories: The 101 Dalmatians Happy Meal Toys at McDonalds

Sooo... I had nothing to blog about today. I'm saving my WCW for next week and I just kind of ran out of ideas so I thought I'd share the most exciting thing about my childhood: The 101 Dalmatians toys from McDonalds. As a child, I was mildly completely obsessed with the McDonalds 101 Dalmatians toys. I was really excited about the movie coming out and... there were 101 toys???? I needed them all! These toys were also really cool because the movie came out around Christmas time and a lot of them had Christmas themes or London themes. There was one covered in tinsel, one with a wreath on his bum, one on an ornament, just all really cute little Christmas things. My parents would take me to every McDonalds and buy several toys at once just so that I could get all 101. Which was really special and they are great parents because of that. And then 102 Dalmatians came out and we had to do the same thing! I still have all of these toys and I'm probably going to use them as Ch...

Puppy Blog!

So I think I've mentioned this before, but in October my family just got a puppy! Our dog Lucky had passed away in the summer and we were all very sad. We're all just dog people and we need a dog in our house, we always talk about dogs and puppies and our house just feels empty without someone running around and barking everywhere. We named him Spencer because he was born the day after the royal baby, Prince George. We thought that it would have been nice if Will and Kate named the baby Spencer to honor Princess Diana aka Diana Spencer. And while everyone was excited and wondering when the royal baby would be born, we were wondering about our puppy. My mom even mentioned something about the new Prince or Princess one time, and I thought she meant our Prince or Princess, so it was sort of a funny thing. Spencer is a lot different than Lucky Dog was. Although they are both Maltese's Spencer's hair is a little longer than Lucky's was. Spencer is a "show qualit...

Man Crush Monday- Mark Duplass

So I talked about doing this before and I was a little hesitant, because I don't really have a ton of actual celebrity crushes and if I were to talk about celebrities that I actually have crushes on, it would probably be super shallow and not that interesting. When I do Woman Crush Wednesdays I talk about women that I admire and want to be like more than girls I think are hot. Sooo I figured I'd post about some guys I admire instead of just guys I think are hot. Mark Duplass is a pretty cool guy, so he made the list first. Alright first off, he's super funny on The League. I just assumed he was just a funny guy that did stand up comedy and over the top funny movies. Then I saw Safety Not Guaranteed, which he stars in and I think he and his brother Jay produced also. It's probably one of my favorite movies ever, and I just thought he was great and he seemed to really get into his character. He played a crazy person that was actually a genius, which I feel like is close...
