Movie Ideas: Grown Up Version of Hey Diddle Diddle

So I always like to think of live action reboots of things... actually my boyfriend and I ALWAYS talk about edgy reboots or live action remakes. He showed me a video of an edgy version of Humpty Dumpty... which was great. Anyway... So Hey Diddle Diddle would be about a Cat that played the fiddle obviously. This cat becomes so famous from playing the fiddle. He plays it left hand- but made it to far... wait that's Ziggy Stardust. But yeah- the Cat plays the fiddle so good- people are forgetting about his other band members... one of his other band members-The Fork- gets jealous and starts his own rock band- with a song called Hey Diddle Diddle... basically think of it as a Hey There Delilah type of deal. The Fork went through a bad breakup and wanted someone to hear him... he wanted love. Cat needed a plan to get the Fork to quit music for good... and he knows the fork is looking for love- so he sets him up with the perfect lady... The Spoon. The Spoon was everything the Fork wa...

Blogmas Day 10: No Sleep Till Christmas Spoiler Review

So this is a weird movie... and I need to start with saying I did not know anything about this movie until like the day it aired. ABC Family did a lot of commercials for it... I didn't think it was a real tv movie- I thought it was just a web advertising thing that they were doing... but nope. It was a real movie... so that was interesting. I think the concept of this movie is... barely even a concept. Lizzie and Simon both have trouble falling asleep. Lizzie seemingly because she is stressed out about marrying Mr. Right... or Mr. Wright because his name is actually Josh Wright. Although Lizzie is a very successful party planner- she is having trouble planning a wedding with Josh and it doesn't help that she just can't fall asleep. Simon is a bartender with dreams of opening his own bar... but because he can never sleep he's a slacker and his girlfriend Nicola breaks up with him. One day Simon decides to go for a walk only to be hit by Lizzie's car. Lizzie off...

Throwback Thursday: Serendipity

Okay... Serendipity is a Romantic Comedy that is all about fate and fortunate accidents. It is an old movie that I watch pretty much every time it's on... and I used to always love it... and I still love it... BUT I feel like I've gotten way more cynical about it as I've gotten older... so I'll kind of explain all of my feelings about it here. The movie focuses around Jonathan and Sarah (played by John Cusak and Kate Beckinsale). They meet up one night in New York reaching for the same pair of gloves... and someone else tries to buy the gloves from them and they come up with some sort of excuse that they're buying them for Sarah's Boyfriend, who will become Jonathan's girlfriend "after the surgery" (someone asked who they were for and she said "my boyfriend" at the same time Jonathan said "my girlfriend.") And they really get a kick out of that I guess and they have dinner... but Sarah won't give Jonathan her name or her p...

Shannon Reviews: The Other Woman

This is one of those movies I was a little disappointed in just because I feel like if I were to direct a comedy... I would do a little bit of a better job. That might just be me being arrogant, but the director of this movie was the same director of the Notebook, and I don't think he's a bad director... I just think this was his first crack at a comedy and it turned out a little weird. That being said, I did think this movie was a lot of fun, especially if you see it with your girlfriends. This movie was really a cute story and it was quite funny... But a lot of it was off just a tad. First off a lot of the lines were ADR added after the movie was off and it was quite obvious. Like there were full conversations between characters where it was quite obvious the actors were not in the same room at the same time. This was something a lot of people complained about with the fourth season of Arrested Development, so I know a lot of people would probably be bothered by this movie....
