Scribbles About Podcasts: Serial Season 2

Heyyy guys! So I've mentioned many times here that I'm a pretty big fan of podcasts and one of the biggest... actually probably the biggest podcast is Serial. Last year Serial was about the murder of a young girl named Hae Min Lee, and whether her ex boyfriend Adnan Syed was wrongfully convicted of the crime. While of corse they couldn't prove whether or not it was Adnan, it did give a fair and honest look at all different sides of the story. Really the point of the podcast was not to prove or disprove Syed's innocence, but to tell his story and the story of the murder in general. And it did that very successfully. It was a story that happened several years ago, and a lot of light was shed on the story because of the podcast, and Adnan's case has been reexamined in court since the podcast came out. Anyway this season follows a soldier named Bowe Bergdahl. This story is slightly more complicated than the first season. I'm going to link the wikipedia article on ...

Review: Undisclosed: The State v Adnan Syed

I'm a big fan of the podcast Serial... I know a lot of people are and the ending was unsatisfying because there is no closure of the story yet. We don't know whether Adnan did it or not... but basically it seems like he shouldn't be convicted because there is no real evidence pointing at him. Just because it seems to make sense that it was him doesn't exactly mean he should go to jail... in my opinion at least. Regardless, when I heard about this new podcast I was interested. Its not serial part 2... it doesn't necessarily answer any questions that Serial didn't answer... but it does give a lot of backround information that serial didn't give. Plus it is from the perspective of a lawyer and not a journalist, so that makes it more of a legal podcast than a narrative the way that Serial was. Its also very biased. Its put together by a group for the innocence of Adnan Syed and the main narrator of the podcast the "Sarah" if you will has known Adnan ...

Scribbles About News! First full week of April 2015

1) Nina Dobrev leaving The Vampire Diaries- so this is a thing. Isn't she the main character? Not anymore I guess... I can see this. I mean she dated her co star and now it must be kinda hard to work with him... I never really understand that. 2) Celebrity Dermatologist Dr. Frederic Brandt found dead at 65 after committing suicide-   Dermarologist to stars such as Joy Bayhar and Kelly Ripa, who also had a skincare line at sephora died after committing suicide. A lot of places are blaming Martin Short's character on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt's parody of him for causing it... That's not it. Depression is deeper than that and it's not like one thing is going to make someone take their life... I just have to say if you're feeling depressed talk to a friend or a family member or anyone to help. Call the suicide hotline, seek medical attention. There is nothing wrong with depression and we live in a day and age where there are medications and technologies to help. T...

Stuff That Happened this week: Week of 12/1

1) Sony Movies hacked- At least 5 movies that were either just released or coming soon have been released due to a hacker of Sony Pictures. Among the movies were Annie and Fury. The media seems to be blaming North Korea because they are angry at sony for The Interview, a movie in which James Franco and Seth Rogen attempt to assassinate Kim Jung Un. I'm not so sure. That seems like going from A to Z really really fast. You know? It could have easily been anyone. It makes sense that it would be North Korea, but idk that it necessarily is. 2) People Magazine accidentally publishes Kirk Douglas Obituary- Kirk Douglas is NOT DEAD, but I guess on People Magazine's website they published his obituary already. A lot of magazines keep obituaries for... well people they think are going to die soon. Thats why Joan Rivers obituary magazines were out a few hours after she died, they likely had that written before. It said "DO NOT PUB" On the headline from what I saw... so it was...
