I'm a big fan of the podcast Serial... I know a lot of people are and the ending was unsatisfying because there is no closure of the story yet. We don't know whether Adnan did it or not... but basically it seems like he shouldn't be convicted because there is no real evidence pointing at him. Just because it seems to make sense that it was him doesn't exactly mean he should go to jail... in my opinion at least.
Regardless, when I heard about this new podcast I was interested. Its not serial part 2... it doesn't necessarily answer any questions that Serial didn't answer... but it does give a lot of backround information that serial didn't give. Plus it is from the perspective of a lawyer and not a journalist, so that makes it more of a legal podcast than a narrative the way that Serial was. Its also very biased. Its put together by a group for the innocence of Adnan Syed and the main narrator of the podcast the "Sarah" if you will has known Adnan since he was 6 years old because he was best friends with her brother. She says that at the beginning of the podcast, so its clear right away what exactly you are listening to.
And it isn't quite as interesting as Serial... but I really like hearing the actual legal details of it all and it further explains the truth about the dates. They track down the school schedules, actual schedules saying when Adnan was tardy and when he wasn't tardy... they delve pretty deep into the story and really get the information out there as to what doesn't make sense with Adnan being guilty of this crime.
When I was listening to Serial... I never really thought Adnan was guilty until the end of the podcast really. It just seemed like he didn't seem like the type of guy that would do it... but it does also seem like there are A TON of coincidences if he didn't do it and pretty much he has the worst luck in the entire world. And then there was that one episode where the woman said they aren't lucky enough for Adnan to just be a psycho killer and I thought that was a pretty good point... so really I don't know. I've gone back and forth. Idk it just didn't seem like there was much motive to me and it didn't seem very likely that he did kill her.
This podcast hasn't totally persuaded me that he didn't do it. It just makes me think a lot of the information was mistaken. I haven't thought "wow there is no way he couldn't have done it" so far because... there is a possibility he did it. So far there is only 1 episode out... so that might be why... it seems like they have more bombshells coming up... but yeah. It doesn't seem one way or the other this far.
I definitely enjoy learning more. I'm interested in the case and I want to see where this podcast is going and if you liked Serial and want to know a little more about the case, definitely listen. I'm not sure whether it is more reliable or less reliable because its with lawyers instead of detectives... but its also clear that there is a bias in it... so it isn't the most reliable.
So this was cool and fun (I say about a podcast based on a murder... I just meant reviewing these.) . I think I'll definitely review more murder podcasts (wow that sounds awful. Lol. There was a Serial Parody where they refer to it as the "Serial Murder Podcast" which is kinda funny.) and I'm actually going to watch The Jinx on demand right now... cause I know Robert Durst did it and that just seems like a whole other issue! Lol.

Also I realize these aren't really "for your entertainment" types of things necessarily ... but they are in a way? Its not like I'd listen to a podcast and be like "Ohhh finally. I want to be bored for an hour of my time." No...lol.
