Scribbles About News- Beginning of April 2015

1) Trevor Noah picked as New Host for The Daily Show- I feel like this is an early announcement and a surprise choice I guess. Trevor Noah who is a 31 year old comedian from South Africa is going to host the Daily Show after Jon Stewart leaves. I guess it isn't really all that surprising, even though he's only been on the show since December. 2 correspondents just left recently. Kristin Schaal would have been my pick, but she has Last Man on Earth and Bob's Burgers... so yeah. I think I've seen him before and he's good. Also pretty cute... so that is a plus. I don't know if he can really replace Jon Stewart... but he isn't replacing him, just taking over the role.

2) Nick Offerman and Megan Mullaley cancel show in Indiana- Because of Indiana's stupid new hate law, Nick Offerman and his wife cancel their upcoming show there. I love Nick Offerman and Megan Mullaley and I have a ton of respect for them for canceling this show because of this stupid stupid law. If you don't know, Indiana has proposed a law where a business can refuse service to a person if that person is gay. That law is literally the worst law I've ever heard in my life. Its so stupid. I think they should have a law where you can refuse to serve someone for being an asshole. I don't see how this law is constitutional at all... DOMA was declared unconstitutional, which is a law against gay marriage. If a law stating gays can't get married is unconstitutional, how is it constitutional for us to deny them service at a restaurant or a business or something. I'm not sure the info I wrote here was 100% accurate, but its 100% true that both of these things are unconstitutional. Everyone should have the same right as everyone right? Doesn't that make sense? Its terrible and I'm happy people like Nick Offerman and Megan Mullaley are taking a stand against this. 

3) Reunion News- A couple of things in the lines of reunion news. First off there was a rumor and even a countdown website that kind of teased a Happy Endings reunion. The Twitter Account Happy Endings Writers tweeted a link to a countdown website... and there was speculation but a lot of friends got their hopes up. Casey Wilson recently said on a podcast that she was not contacted about the reunion and since the date of the countdown was April 1st, she speculated it was a writers assistant joke. Casey Wilson is the star of the show, she's married to one of the creators... everyone else in the cast is pretty much currently working on other shows. I hadn't heard about this reunion... but those would all seem fishy to me... So yeah there is no reunion right now planned, but David Caspe said that enough buzz was created to get them talking about a reunion... so that is cool. Even though he had nothing to do with that buzz, thats quite awesome. I didn't watch the show every week, but I liked it and the stars are all super funny. I'd kind of prefer to see them in other projects... but whatever.

2nd reunion news, Netflix is in the talks to start the Full House reunion. I'm not sure about this one... I'm a little over the reunions. It makes sense for some things. It made sense for Arrested Development to come back, that was cancelled to soon, it would make sense for Happy Endings... it makes enough sense for 24 and X Files, but everyone on Full House is grown up. The Olson twins are now 2 different people... or 4 people for Kimmy Schmidt fans... lol. Also the sitcom today wouldn't really work. Idk I'm not interested. I don't even really like Full House that much... so thats a thing.

And NBC announced they're bringing back Coach... really NBC. Not Friends? Coach?

And in X Files News Cigarette Smoking Man and Agent Skinner are also said to be back. That seems like a big deal for me at least. I feel like this will be a lot better than the second movie. Do not watch the 2nd movie. If you're a fan of the X Files, if you're a fan of movies, if you're a fan of yourself do not watch this movie it is awful. I'll let you know whether or not to watch the reunion when it comes back on. Lol.

Also rumor has it that ABC is in the talks to redo the Muppet show. I'm 100% on board for this. They redid it when I was little but it got cancelled. They still had Sandra Bullock on it, which is cool. I totally think they should redo it. If Brett McKenzie does the music that would ALSO be amazing as I just got back into Flight of The Conchords. 

4) Someone makes life size chocolate replica of Benedict Cumberbatch- This is cool. I think a british chocolate maker made a life-sized chocolate Cumberbatch because it is the thing the world was missing that we didn't even know about. This is absolutely amazing lol. It looks just like him. I didn't know that I wanted this level of fame until I saw that this was a thing. Now I want to be Cumberbatch famous and have a replica of myself made and then just eat myself. Lol. I think thats how I want to die. Morbid. But delicious. 

5) Price is Right Lucky Flub- So one contestant on The Price is Right really lucked up because a model made a pretty big mistake. The contestant was trying to guess the price of a car and one of the shows models Manuela Arbelaez accidentally revealed the price before the contestant was able to make her guess. So they gave her the car! Manuela said that the producers and everyone on the show was very nice and forgiving of her mistake and even tweeted Oprah saying she knows what it feels like to give away cars. I thought that was a cute story. 

6) Play Doh movie to get made- Paul Feig is set to direct a play doh movie... and yeah. This is the world we live in. Although I bet people thought that for The Lego Movie and that was a huge success. If Paul Feig is behind it, I'm sure its going to be quite good... but it doesn't sound like something we need at the time. Chocolate Cumberbatch? Yes we need that. Play Doh Movie? No thanks. But yeah... thats a thing. I love Paul Feig though, he directed Bridesmaids he's directing the new Peanuts movie and he was Sabrina's teacher on Sabrina... so I'm not mad at it. Lol. I just don't think we need it. 

7) Hayley Okines, child born with a rare premature aging disease dies at the age of 17- This is a really sad medical mystery. It was said that Okines wasn't supposed to live past the age of 13, but she defied the odds and lived till 17. I've heard a lot of these similar birth defect types of stories and they're so sad, no one can quite understand them and there isn't a lot to do about them. I remember there was a girl that died a few years ago that was 16 years old I believe, but she never grew up from being a baby. She still looked and acted like a baby, but her parents could see traits of teenage behavior and rebellion and they said "she's a typical teenager" and it was true, but she was still the size of a baby and couldn't talk or anything like that. I don't know why we don't research things like that more often. There are so many rare diseases and really there is nothing anyone knows what to do for and I feel like these kids get kind of overlooked and end up dying young because we just don't know what to do about them. And that breaks my heart. Its such a sad thing. Its amazing that these two girls lived to be in their teenage years... but just so sad that I don't think there is really much being done about them. I feel like there needs to be more done for these cases. And I get that there are so many diseases that lots of people have... but there should be something for these rare diseases. I don't know.

I'm not blaming doctors or anything, clearly she lived passed the age she was supposed to and thats an amazing thing, but I just feel like there  should be more attention to rare diseases. 

8) Zayn Malik already working on Solo album- Zayn, the hot one from One Direction, who recently left the band in order to "be a normal 22 year old" is now doing something I never did as an actual normal 22 year old which is recording a solo album. And I think its set to release real soon, or it was leaked or something. I'm not a huge fan of One Direction, but because of the hot thing, I would definitely give this album a good listening to. Lol. Once again Zayn I am single if you really want to be a normal 22 year old and date a weird 23 year old. Just puttin it out there. I know you probably have offers and you have a girlfriend... but just puttin it out there. 

9) Kritin Wiig and Will Ferrel: Will they or won't they star in a lifetime movie- I've heard this announced on April Fools day and they were like "no this is a real thing. They are going to star in a lifetime movie called Deadly Adoption or something like that. Now I hear "No it definitely is not happening" and that kind of upsets me. I'm a fan of both of them... and they need to do something and I think they would be perfect for a Lifetime Movie... lol. Also Lifetime Movies are ridiculous anyway. There was one where David Duchovney's wife and daughter were in a coma and one died and then the wife was in the daughters body and she was trying to have sex with him and even for David Duchovney... it was a little too weird. So yeah. I don't see why they can't do a comedy. Lol.
