Scribbles About Movies: Trailer Reviews! The Emoji Movie, The Lego Ninjago Movie, Pitch Perfect 3... Family Friendly Previews before Despicable Me 3

I thought this would be kind of fun to do. As I've mentioned... I recently saw Despicable Me 3 and I thought it would be a good idea to post about the previews that accompanied the movie. The Emoji Movie- I think this one kind of stood out the most to me... maybe not my favorite of the movies they showed... but it looked like an interesting take and an interesting concept... it did look very familiar though. They could have called this "Wreck it Ralph, with Emojis." Because that is the vibe I for from it. The "Meh" emoji doesn't always want to be "meh." Similar to the way Ralph doesn't always want to be a villain. I think the cast has some great voice actors. TJ Miller as Gene the Meh emoji is great. Anna Faris plays "Jailbreak"... who's character reminds me of Wildstyle from The Lego Movie. It was nothing too different... but the Emoji take on this story is pretty interesting. Pitch Perfect 3- Pretty sure this will be the las...

Scribbles About Movies: Trailer Reviews! Swiss Army Man, Bad Moms, You Before Me and More!

Figured I'd do another trailer review cause I love Daniel Radcliffe... and I wanted to see how weird this Swisss Army Man trailer was... Swiss Army Man Trailer - This is kinda weird... its a little more normal than I expected to be honest. So Daniel Radcliffe plays a dead guy... and Paul Dano uses his flatulence as a propellor to get him to land... and then he continues being a useful tool for Dano's character I guess. His penis is a compass or something... it sounds like a pretty weird movie... totally want to watch it! The BFG - I always think BFG stands for Big Effing Giant... and then remember its a kids book so its not Effing... its friendly. So now I guess I'll just say Friendly instead of Effing. Lol. Bill Hader is in this... I kinda have a crush on him... so that's cool. I feel like I'm a little old for this one. It looks great, if you have young kids, totally seems like a fun family movie... but probably not for me! The Legend of Tarzan  So I kinda ...

Scribbles About Movies: Trailer Reviews! Finding Dory and Ghostbusters

So I used to do these a lot... and I haven't done one since the My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 trailer... but 2 important movies are coming up... so why not! Finding Dory  If you want to know what I'm talking about you can watch the trailer right  here . I love Finding Nemo. Its one of my favorite Pixar movies... and probably just one of my favorite movies. This is one of those movies that I can watch any time its on and just always enjoy. And this seems like the way to do a sequel for it. In the original, Dory mentions that she has a family... but she doesn't know where they are. She also talks in her sleep... and now she's started sleep-swimming and she remembers where she came from and she has to find her family. I like that this really plays off the original movie, but its about a character we know and love already and I think it will be a fun one to watch. Its a good follow up and I think the original movie is so loved and so good that it will seem like no tim...

Scribbles About Movies: My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 Trailer Review

Alrighty! So I know I said I'd have the AHS re-watch today... But this is more important. A sequel to one of my favorite movies of all time, much overdue and I'm so excited I'm actually writing this from the back seat of a car! Lol. So I couldn't hear the whole trailer all that well as I watched it in the back seat of a car and I don't think I saw the very end... But even without sound... This is the way to do a sequel. The whole cast is back, everyone is still alive and they look just as funny and great as in the original. I think if anyone had passed away or wasn't able to do the sequel for other commitments, they probably wouldn't have done it and I don't think they should have in that case honestly. They also show that everyone is older. The daughter from the first movie is all grown up and Ian and Toula are trying to keep their marriage fresh and get a minute without the whole family... And that doesn't work out. It's funny there are som...

Scribbles About Movies: Trailer Reviews

Sooo I figured I haven't done this in a while... and there are some trailers I want to talk about... sooooo... The Night Before- Joseph Gordan Levitt, Seth Rogen and Anthony Mackie, who is a Marvel guy I didn't know about star in a Bromantic Comedy about 3 grown men that spend every Christmas together because JGL's parents died on Christmas and they made a promise to spend every Christmas together, and this is the last night of the tradition because Mackie is famous and Rogen is becoming a dad. So they party it up and do shrooms and coke and have a grand Christmas... this movie doesn't really look good to me. In any way. I love Seth Rogen and JGL,  Mindy Kaling, Lizzie Caplan and Jillian from Workaholics are also in this movie... but it just looks bad. Not only bad... but its been done before. If it gets good reviews or something, I'll see it... but somehow I don't think it will and I don't think I will. I'm gonna guess this movie will be a D.  Zoola...

Scribbles about Movies: Trailer Reviews- Reboot/Sequel Edition

1) Star Wars: The Force Awakens- This looks awesome. A lot of people are analyzing this trailer... I'm not quite sure. There was actually a lot of new info for a teaser trailer. 2) Jurassic World- I kind of want to see this movie...but the trailer looks terrible! Idk it just looks stupid. Beautiful but like "well that's dumb." It looks slightly magical... but its not a 90s movie. There is something about a 90s and early 2000s movie that... you can't replicate today. Its magical and mystical and filled with technology that is amazing for the time... this just looks like a run of the mill action movie. Nothing special. Another dumb reboot we didn't need. Just mehhh. 3) Minions- I think this looks amazing. Now I may be biased because I love the Minions... but put the minion factor of it all aside... this is such a creative and different movie. I love the concept. It isn't a sequel or remake. Its an origin story of the Minions and how they came into existe...

Trailer Reviews: Horns, A Merry Friggin Christmas and more

1)A Merry Friggin Christmas- This is a movie that is going to make everyone sad because it stars Robin Williams, and I believe it is his final film role. This is really sad because its hard to ignore the tragedy of it all. Williams looks like he's playing a really funny role, his chemistry with Joel McHale looks on point, this looks like a Meet the Parents type of amazing movie... but its hard to think of this as such a great, feel-good, funny movie when we all know Williams was in a lot of pain whilst filming it. I think it looks good and I'll see it, but its just very real and soon right now. 2) Horns- This movie looks pretty awesome. I kind of want to read the book too. A man is accused of killing his girlfriend and he states that the devil should punish the real killer of his girlfriend... and then he grows horns. It also seems like a crazy small town where they jump to conclusions really quickly and that makes him look more guilty. Its got a gone girl vibe but with a bit...

Trailer Reviews: New Gone Girl Trailer and more!

So I did one of these last week, but there is a new gone girl trailer that I just watched and I figured I'd watch some more stuff. 1) Gone Girl- This is the movie where Ben Affleck's wife goes missing and he seems suspicious, yet insists he didn't do it. It's based off of a book that I want to read because I'm interested in the story... but lets face it. Ben Affleck, Tyler Perry... doesn't sound like a great movie to me so far lol. Also books about murder don't translate that well on screen I don't really think. I kind of liked The Lovely Bones movie, but it wasn't fantastic or anything I would have really wanted to pay to see... I don't know. The teaser was super weird and arty, it was just clips of the movie that were rather disturbing and a song playing in the backround... its weird. This one had more of the story, but it still didn't really tell us anything. It makes Ben Affleck look super guilty and on one hand that would be super obvi...

Trailer Reviews! Dark comedies and Indy movies. Plus Horrible bosses two teaser.

So I just realized that there is a movie out that has Jason Bateman and Tina Fey as brother and sister and is the comedy I've been dreaming about for years... Seriously this is my type of movie. And it has a trailer out and I haven't seen it... That means it is definitely time for trailer reviews! 1) This Is Where I Leave You- As mentioned above... I am excited for this movie. People are saying it has the potential to be the greatest movie ever made, and I agree with that and absolutely want to see it the second it comes out... And I didn't even catch the date of it. Anyway this movie looks completely perfect in every way. I love Jason Bateman almost as much if not more than I love Tina Fey and them together is just the best thing that could possibly happen in a movie. Yes this movie will be good. I actually waited a while to see the trailer because I've been sort of researching the movie, and following it for a while, which I hardly do because I get bored with it and ...

Trailer Reviews!

Sooo I've been doing a lot of these trailer reviews and I've seen a lot of trailers for big blockbuster type of movies that look really shitty. Now I'm going to try to do some smaller movies I've never heard of and documentaries. There will still be some bigger movies here too, but a lot of them I've never heard of. Also I'm looking these up on Hulu and it seems like a lot of the popular trailers are for older movies that have been out for a while now... so we'll see what exactly these are all about. 1) Tammy- I've already done a review on the teaser... but I'm hoping this is the actual trailer. Nahhh this is just the teaser again. Still looks really good. 2) Sin City: A Dame To Kill For- I didn't see the original Sin City... but I saw the trailers for that and it looked good. I don't remember it that well because it was out a million years ago, but Imma watch this trailer. Idk. I want to see it because I want to see the original still, b...

Shannon Watches Movie Trailers

I've been wanting to do this for a while... so here I go! 1) The Amazing Spider Man 2- This starts out kind of crazy. Aunt... I forget her name. Aunt Sally Fields is yelling at Peter because when he washes the laundry everything turns red and blue. It's a weak laugh... but funnier than most super hero movies I guess. And then he rescues Jamie Foxx who works for Oscorp with Gwen. Then Jamie Foxx gets shocked and causes a power outage in the city. Then Jamie Foxx turns into some electric type of guy that looks like Dr. Manhattan and Spiderman forgets his name. Which upsets Jamie Foxx Dr. Manhattan and he lightning  bults Spiderman. Then there is a bunch of other explosions and lightning bults and Jamie Foxx and cool stuff happening. It seems like Jack Nicholson should be in this movie, idk why I was expecting him to show up on the trailer. Looks pretty dang good though and I like the Spiderman movies, so I will definitely see it! 2) Blended- I've already seen this trailer...
