Scribbles About Movies: My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 Trailer Review

Alrighty! So I know I said I'd have the AHS re-watch today... But this is more important. A sequel to one of my favorite movies of all time, much overdue and I'm so excited I'm actually writing this from the back seat of a car! Lol.

So I couldn't hear the whole trailer all that well as I watched it in the back seat of a car and I don't think I saw the very end... But even without sound... This is the way to do a sequel. The whole cast is back, everyone is still alive and they look just as funny and great as in the original. I think if anyone had passed away or wasn't able to do the sequel for other commitments, they probably wouldn't have done it and I don't think they should have in that case honestly.

They also show that everyone is older. The daughter from the first movie is all grown up and Ian and Toula are trying to keep their marriage fresh and get a minute without the whole family... And that doesn't work out. It's funny there are some great laughs. I think it'll be fun to see the couple that we loved as parents now and see the daughter all grown up. It will be especially interesting now that Nia Vardalos is a parent herself. She still wrote the movie so Im sure that had influenced her a lot. Her writing is always so funny and great.

There were just a lot of laughs and this movie didn't need a sequel but I can tell it's going to be just as amazing as the original... And this is how you do a sequel. They aren't in it for the money or anything like that. I think it was still independently made with a small budget, although I'm sure they could have gone with a bigger budget. It's just a fun movie and I think the sequel will be just as fun!

And it will be out right before my sisters little greek wedding, so that should be good too!

Ohhh and Toula's parents are the ones getting married. Which I think is just so funny. Nice little twist!

Byeeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
