Chart Chat: 11/30/15

Lets see what songs and movies people talked about at Thanksgiving Dinner and maybe saw this weekend.

Music

5) Confident by Demi Lovato- This song is awesome. I was trying on bridesmaid dresses and then this song came on and I was like "Yassss" and my sister was like "I still like the other one better" lol. That story should be coming up soon. I feel a little old liking Demi Lovato... but she's awesome. I like her a lot now.

4) Hotline Bling by Drake- Not a fan. I've talked about this on chart chats before... but it just isn't something I'd download or listen to... ever. Lol. Drake has a different sort of vibe. He isn't really a rapper... but he isn't really a singer either. I like when they do the Adele mashups of this though. Adele even thinks its funny... so thats awesome.

3) Love Yourself by Justin Bieber- I haven't heard this song yet and don't really want to click on the sample right now cause I want to write this in a hurry... I don't hate the new Justin Bieber. I have to admit, I didn't love What Do You Mean at first... but I've gotten used to it. And I've heard he's actually a nice guy... so that makes me feel not embarrassed to like him either. I'm still a little embarrassed because a few years ago I hated everything he stood for... but now he seems okay. I think he's trying to calm down and he still seems like a brat to me... but idk. He seems good to his fans and kind of down to earth.

2) Sorry by Justin Bieber- Same deal. Haven't heard this one yet either... but I'm impressed with Justin Bieber's change. Lol. It took a while for me to like What Do You Mean. I put it in a terrible lyric analysis, I've talked about not liking it in Chart Chat's previously... now I'm okay with it.

1) Hello by Adele- This sounds different than other Adele songs... which is good. Adele is very talented... but she gets very overplayed, so its hard for me to actually like her. I worked retail during the peak of her career... we played her a lot. All her songs, some remixes, some Glee covers... it was a lot to handle. Not bad... but yeah. This one is good... but I'm already almost tired of it.

Movies

5) The Peanut's Movie- I still need to see this movie! It's gotten okay reviews, but I'm a big peanuts fan and I think the animation looks awesome and I really like Paul Feig. I think it looks cute. Its never as good as the original... but its good. I love the message behind all the Peanut's holiday specials and I think its just nice that they're still relevant... and I can still sit down and watch them today and crack up laughing. It didn't come out in my generation, I'm sort of a grown up now... and its just still as entertaining to me as any regular TV show. Who's your favorite character besides Snoopy? Mine is definitely Sally. She's just so sassy. I love her. Lol.

4) Spectre- This is the first time I think I've ever kind of wanted to see all 5 of the top movies. I like James Bond, I need to see some of the older ones cause I saw one of the Sean Connory ones not long ago and it was good. Daniel Craig is hot, and a good actor and a good Bond. I hope he doesn't just entirely quit acting after Bond. I know he won't... but I think he's good and would like to see him in other roles too. Again, hot.

3) Creed- I had no interest in seeing this, but it is getting amazing reviews and even Oscar Buzz! I really hope Sly wins... mostly because I do a surprisingly good Sylvester Stallone impression for a 24 year old girl... and I think his acceptance speech would be amazing. Michael B. Jordan is also in this. He was Wallace on The Wire aka the SADDEST TV death ever! But yeah. This doesn't look bad at all, and apparently it isn't.

2) The Good Dinosaur- So this movie looks really cute. I love Pixar movies, I'm probably going to see it sometime this week. I thought this would be #1 because its such a good time for a fun family movie... but I guess these are all almost family friendly movies... lol nothing rated R. This looked like it was more for kids than for grown ups... but it still looked good and I still have to see it. It's Pixar!

1) The Hunger Games Mockingjay pt. 2- I love The Hunger Games books. I just saw Mockingjay part 1 and I liked that... I'll honestly probably wait till this is out on DVD to see it... just cause I get a little freaked out at popular movies. And Mockingjay was my least favorite book. Catching Fire is probably my favorite. I liked the way it ended and everything... I just like when they're in the games.

So that is everything! Hope you guys like it!

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
