Scribbles About Movies: Trailer Reviews! The Emoji Movie, The Lego Ninjago Movie, Pitch Perfect 3... Family Friendly Previews before Despicable Me 3

I thought this would be kind of fun to do. As I've mentioned... I recently saw Despicable Me 3 and I thought it would be a good idea to post about the previews that accompanied the movie.

The Emoji Movie- I think this one kind of stood out the most to me... maybe not my favorite of the movies they showed... but it looked like an interesting take and an interesting concept... it did look very familiar though. They could have called this "Wreck it Ralph, with Emojis." Because that is the vibe I for from it. The "Meh" emoji doesn't always want to be "meh." Similar to the way Ralph doesn't always want to be a villain. I think the cast has some great voice actors. TJ Miller as Gene the Meh emoji is great. Anna Faris plays "Jailbreak"... who's character reminds me of Wildstyle from The Lego Movie. It was nothing too different... but the Emoji take on this story is pretty interesting.

Pitch Perfect 3- Pretty sure this will be the last theatrically released Pitch Perfect movie... I could see this going the way of Bring It On and having Direct to DVD spinoffs... but lets hope not. My mom thought this looked really funny... I kind of have mixed feelings about it. It looks good and I'm going to see it... but Pitch Perfect was great. Pitch Perfect 2 was good. It was maybe a little bit funnier than the first one... not as great though. And this just looks exactly like Pitch Perfect 2... so It's a National Treasure Scenario where idk which one is which. I'm not going to know which one is which at all when they are on tv... and I'm sure this will be the least of the 3... so those are my thoughts. I prefer having a trilogy to just 1 or 2 movies... but at the same time... you only get one ending to a movie. If you have a sequel... that's going to change the end of the first movie.

The Lego Ninjago Movie- I think this one looked like it was the best of all the movies. It looked really funny... I liked The Lego Movie a lot... haven't seen The Lego Batman Movie... but I think this one looks even funnier than those. I just really love how this looked and everything... so this is fun.

My Little Pony: The Movie- This was one of the lesser trailers on the list... it looked funny and it looked like they added some Brony's on the trailer... idk. I don't know much about My Little Pony. It did look a little annoying... but it kind of poked fun at it being annoying. Not one I'm going to go out and see.

Daddy's Home 2- This is another thing I'm not the biggest fan of: Sequels that spoil the ending of the first movie. Which... I guess happened with Despicable Me 3 anyway... so idk why I'm really complaining here. It's not like I thought Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrel didn't end up being friends at the end of the movie... but when they show them as best friends in the beginning of the trailer right away... it's just kind of like "ohhh you worked so hard to get there in the first movie... why ruin that." And then they're changing the concept and having it be their dad's that are coming over for Christmas... which just seemed like they were trying really hard with it. What kind of makes me want to see this movie is John Lithgow. Has John Lithgow ever not been amazing in anything? No. Especially recently... I feel like he's at the top of his game. The person that I wish wasn't in the movie: Mel Gibson. I don't know if I could really see this movie taking Mel Gibson seriously.

The Greatest Showman - This one... not my thing. And this is a musical with Zac Effron in it. If there are 2 things I like- it's musicals and hot men... so that upsets me that this took 2 of my favorite things and it doesn't look like a great movie. It's a dream project for Hugh Jackman... also usually a bad sign. And... there are just a lot of red flags with this movie... doesn't look like it will be the greatest. I hope I'm wrong... but nahhh. Now isn't a good time to release a Circus movie... Circuses are JUST closing... so the nostalgia hasn't really hit anyone and the magic in this seems fizzled. It just seems like this is going to be a forgotten movie.

The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature- Will Arnett is an incredibly talented voice actor... I don't think a squirrel is the right role for him. He has a very deep, strong voice. He's the Lego Batman... he's the chef from Ratatouille that killed a man with this thumb... he's the head of the Bank of Evil... he's not a squirrel. It just doesn't work for me. I'm not quite sure who this movies for... doesn't seem like it's for kids... but it isn't not for kids... so it's a little weird.

Alright... I think that is everything I saw before previews... I have watched a couple of other trailers for some movies coming soon... so I will probably have another of these soon... but that's it for right now.

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
