Disney Princess Movies: Ranked

Today I woke up and I thought "You know Cinderella was a good movie... but not a lot of stuff happened in it compared to Snow White or Sleeping Beauty." So... I thought I would just rank the movies... this does not necessarily reflect my views on the princesses themselves... but here are my Disney movies.

And just for reference, here are all the movies on the list.

 Snow White
Sleeping Beauty
Cinderella
Aladdin
Tangled
Mulan
Brave
Pocahontas
The Princess and The Frog
Beauty and The Beast
The Little Mermaid

I'm counting everyone in the "Disney Princess Lineup" so that is why I'm including Mulan, even though I don't necessarily think of it as a Princess movie... and Frozen is actually it's own franchise separate from the Disney Princess Franchise. So 11 movies... all great... I haven't watched a lot of them recently... but still... I think I have my list.

11) Brave- This is definitely my least favorite of the Princess movies... it is pretty good... I did see this in theaters- but I haven't seen it since it was in theaters. I think I'll have to re-watch it sometime soon and see how I think of it... because I did like it a lot... but again... least favorite princess movie. Merida is a great character- I like that there was no love interest and her relationship with her mother and everything... it was interesting and different. Not bad... just at the bottom of the list.

10) Cinderella- This is what inspired the whole thing... idk if I love Cinderella. There's not a lot that really happens in this. It isn't bad... but just not as much going on as Snow White or Sleeping Beauty. The Prince isn't totally boring... but it isn't my favorite. I love the music and the Fairy Godmother and the Transformation scene was totally revolutionary for the time... just not my favorite.

9) Pocahontas- I've actually seen Pocahontas pretty recently. It's good music, beautifully animated... probably the most controversial movie on the list... maybe one of the least historically accurate. As much as I love this movie... whenever it is on ABC Family Freeform (still can't get used to it as Freeform) I end up kind of half-watching it because it doesn't peak my interest all that much. I do get excited in Disney Store when I hear "Colors of the Wind" because they do play that often.

8) Snow White- The prince in this movie is a little boring... but I think everything else going on is pretty fantastic. The Evil Queen is great, it's a very iconic movie and I appreciate it. I think the reason I like this so much is the dark ride at Disney World "Snow White's Scary Adventure." I just liked how they told the story. They no longer have the ride at Disney World, but they have it at Disneyland Paris and Disneyland... so that's a good thing. I'm a little bummed it isn't at Disney World... but this is good too!

7) Princess and The Frog- This is a fun movie! The music is good... I need to see this again. I love Tiana. Naveen is one of my favorite princes- and a lot of times when I take "Which Disney Prince is your soulmate" its Naveen... so I'm super happy with him. I've only seen this once and as good as it was... it was a little bit long. Not bad or slow... just kind of long- they could have ended it earlier. Still love this movie though!

6) The Little Mermaid- I was having trouble between this and the next one... it is really close... but this is just a bit lower on the list... so it just missed the top 5. This is a movie that whenever I see it I'm like "Ohhh this is great, I love everything about it..." But at the same time... This is a lot of people's favorite movie... and it seems a little overrated to me that way. Idk. I feel like people that were little when this came out think it's great because it came out when they were little... which is how people think of Frozen. It is actually a good movie still... just thought I'd point that out.

5) Mulan- Mulan I've also seen recently... and I probably should buy the DVD because I love it. Mulan isn't really a "Princess movie" but Mulan is recognized as an official Disney Princess because she performed and act of heroism... they invented that rule just to add Mulan into the Official Disney Princess Lineup. It's an awesome movie...I love it and it's in my top 5.

4) Sleeping Beauty- I think this one is a little underrated because this wasn't new when people were little... and Aurora isn't in it very much... but this is just a really good movie. Maleficent is a great movie... Phillip is one of the best princes... he definitely had a great personality. I just think this is a lot of fun, action packed and very impressive for such an early animated movie!

3) Beauty and The Beast- Another favorite! This one was new when I was born... so I'm probably biased... I love how Grumpy the beast is... a lot of my favorite movies from when I was little had a really grumpy male character... talking about you Han Solo! Lol. But still... great movie- lot of fun and I just love all the characters. Great soundtrack to. I have to say... I think with this and Cinderella- I like the Live Action versions better. I just loveeeed the live action version. So pretty and a lot of fun.

But, anyway... this animated movie was great. It's always fun to watch. I'm just a fan!

2) Tangled- This was almost number 1 on the  list... they're kind of tied... I think I like Aladdin just a little bit more... Spoilers- if you couldn't guess my number one... but this is a fantastic movie! Rapunzel is my favorite princess... Eugene is one of the best princes... I just think it's a really fun...  beautifully animated movie. I love the scene with the lanterns... I love the art aesthetic of it all as well. I think this is a little bit underrated to because people love Frozen so much.

Rapunzel is the Disney Character... and maybe just the fictional character I identify with most. I have no idea why... any personality test says I'm Rapunzel. Rapunzel is the Disney Character that acts most libra-like. And as much as I love characters like Moana... I totally identify with Rapunzel still! Love Tangled!

1) Aladdin- I love Aladdin! This was the first movie I ever saw... I love it. Aladdin, Genie, Jasmine... there's a lot about this movie that I just totally love. So it is definitely at the top of my list... absolutely love it!

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
