Throwback Thursday: Cars

So I didn't quite watch the full movie of this... but I thought I should do a review now as oppose to later because of how I felt about the movie after watching it the most recent time I watched it... so I'm going to just talk about it now... and we'll see what happens lol.

I always kind of think of this on the lower end of Pixar movies... but I think I underestimated it a little because it's a pretty unique and complex story with a lot of different elements to it... and I kind of like that.

Cars kind of plays an important role in The Pixar Theory... but watching it without knowing much about The Pixar Theory as a whole is super interesting.

Cars does the brilliant thing of combining everything people love about cars... people love watching Car races, so they have the Piston Cup. People love driving places, so they include Route 66. People love Car movies, so they have references to Steve McQueen. People love fancy cars, so they have a Porsche... people love rusty beat up cars- so they have Mater... just anything you could love about a Car, it's in this movie.

I think my favorite part is the Route 66 part... most of what I know about Route 66 is from Justin Scarred on youtube... he's just now traveling through all of route 66 now... so he's got a lot of current videos about the history of it and all the attractions. A lot of the characters in the movie are based off of real people you'll meet if you travel on Route 66... so that's kind of awesome.

I don't know a lot about Cars or racing... my dad does though- so I would be interested to know how he thinks about this... so there are things that are absolutely things adults will appreciate... but it's totally a fun kids movies. The toys have to be the greatest things ever, the movie is fun to watch... kids love Cars! I was an aid for a CCD class when I was in high school and the kids all LOVED whenever we had the Cars Stickers. Boys and girls... everyone just went crazy. It was really a lot of fun.

That all being said... I did fall asleep. That isn't really a bad thing- when I like something it relaxes me and I end up falling asleep... typically I don't fall asleep while watching Pixar movies... but this feels like something you watch in a Car and then fall asleep... so that's why that happened. Plus I had eaten a lot... and I did a lot that day... so it was a sleepy day.

I really had fun watching this... I'll definitely watch it some more... and I'll re-compare this to other Pixar movies... because this might be higher on the list than I thought.

Still have not seen Cars 2 or 3 as of the time I'm writing this... but I'd give those a chance. Cars 2 is pretty terrible and the reviews reflect that... Cars 3 is probably a little better... but I don't think it'll be as good as the original... which again- is maybe lower on the Pixar list than others of mine... I think I like it more than The Incredibles... idk. I'll have to think of that... but it's good and I'd recommend watching it if you love anything about cars.

Also Cars land in Disney's California Adventure... right? That's amazing.

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
