Scribbles About Movies: Trailer Reviews

Sooo I figured I haven't done this in a while... and there are some trailers I want to talk about... sooooo...

The Night Before- Joseph Gordan Levitt, Seth Rogen and Anthony Mackie, who is a Marvel guy I didn't know about star in a Bromantic Comedy about 3 grown men that spend every Christmas together because JGL's parents died on Christmas and they made a promise to spend every Christmas together, and this is the last night of the tradition because Mackie is famous and Rogen is becoming a dad. So they party it up and do shrooms and coke and have a grand Christmas... this movie doesn't really look good to me. In any way. I love Seth Rogen and JGL,  Mindy Kaling, Lizzie Caplan and Jillian from Workaholics are also in this movie... but it just looks bad. Not only bad... but its been done before. If it gets good reviews or something, I'll see it... but somehow I don't think it will and I don't think I will. I'm gonna guess this movie will be a D.

Zoolander 2

This was just a teaser... and it was a pretty brilliant teaser. I was put off by the VO though. I can't really guess anything about the movie based off of a teaser, but I think the teaser was definitely an A-

Deadpool

Both the Red Band Trailer and the Green Band Trailer look awesome for this movie... you kind of get that it isn't a family friendly movie either way. I'm really looking forward to this one. The Green Band Trailer made me like "ohhh I want to see this" the red band had me like "why isn't this out yet?" But yeah. I had just read a Deadpool comic before seeing this too and I enjoyed that and this movie looks just as funny and awesome and... deadpool-ish.

The Peanuts Movie

I'm kind of obsessed with the animation in this. I didn't think I'd like it at first... but the more I see it the more beautiful it looks to me and this just looks like its going to be a great film. Instant classic maybe even? I did the Peanut-ize me app too and I really liked how my character looked. She's really cute, you get to build your own peanuts character and mine came out looking a lot like me, and dressed quite a bit like me too. I'll put up a picture. A for the trailer!

Isn't she cute? I love that pink flannel and shoes that look like Toms were an option!

Angry Birds (Teaser)
So you can't tell much from the teaser... I feel like whoever made this did a bad job though. It told a little too much to be a teaser, but a little too little to be a trailer... so it was just like a short clip that didn't make sense and didn't really make me want to see the movie. I like the animation... didn't love it. It looked kind of annoying to be honest... idk though. I'm not a big fan of bird movies and I didn't really play the game. It'll be interesting to see what people think of this... and the marketing. But right now... the trailers a definite C.

Suicide Squad
This looks good. I think this was more of a teaser... but it did give enough background. I'm already 100% going to see this movie. I think it looks awesome. I think Jared Leto looks awesome, Harley Quinn looks awesome and I think I like the concept of it a lot. Its definitely one I'm looking forward to... I don't really think people are going to like it much though. Lol. I think it's going to get bad reviews, but for whatever reason, I'm pretty sure I'm going to like it. B

Hell And Back
I didn't know about this movie at all. I saw it in like a Facebook ad and decided to watch it. It looks really funny actually. I don't think its my type of movie really... I'm not really a big Robot Chicken fan or anything. I respect the humor, it just kind of gives me a headache... this looks funny though. If it comes on Netflix I might watch it because I did actually laugh a few times in the trailer. Not bad, but probably not really made for me... but I think I'd like it anyway. I love Horror comedies and... idk how to say this without sounding like a crazy person... but I like movies and tv shows like Supernatural or Ghost Rider where people are fighting demons or possessed by demons or something like that. I think this looks like it could bring popularity back to that weird genre that hasn't really had a good hit. This could be the next Shaun of The Dead too... which gets me excited.

Idk how to even rate this movie because I think it looks brilliant, I know it isn't really for me... but I still want to watch it on Netflix or something... so yeah. It appeals to me that much... but I know a Robot Chicken or Triptank type of thing isn't for me. And I'm not sure how funny this will be to me because I know I'm not a fan of those things really... but I still like the voices and its something that interests me enough to watch. So yeah... that is just my thoughts. No real grade. The Paul F Tompkins part was funny. He asks for Pepperoni Pizza because the sign say Pepperoni but then the guy says "we don't have pepperoni" and PFT says "but the sign says you do" and then the guy says "This is hell." I love the idea that that mundane interaction is actually what hell is. Its so true its just a simple thing that happens to everyone all the time and its just annoying. Probably an accurate depiction of hell.

That's it for right now. I started this a long time ago and then I was like "ohhh... I should include some newer trailers I've seen too." And so I did. Lol. Hope you guys like it. Which of these movies are you most excited for? Let me know!

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
