Woman Crush Wednesday: Jemma Simmons from Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D

So I just finished the episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D called FZZT which mainly focuses around Jemma Simmons from the Fitz-Simmons dream team of scientists in S.H.I.E.L.D. She really isn't the main character of the show or anything, but she's a really great character, and here are some things I like about her.

1) She's the smartest person in the room- In a room filled with brilliant agents and really strong and daring people... she's definitely the smartest person in the room all the time... which is impressive. She is kind of the Comic Relief to the show, but her brains make her one of the most interesting characters by far. She'll solve whatever problem they have and has really saved the day several times during the show, which is awesome. She may not be a regular field agent, but she is just as valuable as everyone else and she is awesome.

2) She is the only person that can cure the disease... and unfortunately the only person that contracted it- In FZZT its a tragic sort of irony that she contracts the disease because she's really the only one that might be able to stop it! And she does try to stop it and doesn't give up hope until its almost too late... or so she thinks anyway. I don't want to give spoilers... but she doesn't die... lol. I was really on the edge of my seat in that episode! The actors were all really great and the writing was great too.

3) She isn't afraid to do what's best for the team, even if it means sacrificing herself- Again... FZZT spoilers, but she thinks her disease will ruin the mission for the rest of the crew and she thinks they'll all be exposed to her disease and she doesn't want that, so she jumps off the plane because thats the only option she can see. She doesn't want to... but she thinks that is the only way to save the team, and she would rather suffer and have everyone else live than cause everyone to die with her.

4) She mostly follows the rules... but knows when not to- Everyone on her team is kind of like this... but Jemma will not follow the rules if the rules don't make sense. When she can't find out where Fitz and Ward are going off to, she follows Skye even though she doesn't really want to break the rules. She needs to know what is going on with her friends, so she breaks the rules and is okay with it because she knew she needed to... she didn't handle it very well... but she did it!

5) Her relationship with Fitz -One of the things that is great about Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D is that the relationships between all of the main characters are established really quickly. They leave out some details... but they show how close they are, who trusts who, who needs who for whatever reason and who are the most alike. Fitz and Simmons are referred to as Fitz-Simmons because they are essentially one person. They think for themselves, but they do everything together for the most part and they're both sort of the science nerd outcasts from the group... so they can relate that way! All in all her relationships with everyone are interesting... but clearly Fitz-Simmons is the most interesting and the funniest for Simmons at least.

6) Her sense of style and British Accent- I mean she's also adorable and British... what else could you want in a woman crush???

Byeeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
