Scribbles About TV: The Muppets Review

This was the show I was most excited about... but also the one I was most scared of. I love The Muppets and I've been following all the press for this of corse... who hasn't been right? But I was worried because I knew it wasn't really going to be the muppets I grew up with... and it wasn't... but thats okay.

It's not exactly a kids show, not exactly an adult's show. You could watch it with kids I think... it isn't like there are any racey jokes or anything... but this is what I've heard online and it is true... the emotions of the characters make it an adult show. There's a lot of sad themes that kids won't exactly be able to relate to like Kermit's breakup with Miss Piggy and Fozzie being scared his girlfriend's parents won't like him. Its emotions kids won't understand but its relatable for grown ups because its the muppets. Its not unlike Bojack Horseman actually... but not quite as sad and it is kid friendly... but something adults can watch too.

And aside from thinking about all of that just watching and enjoying the show as a whole... its a really funny and good show. It might be a little creepy if you're just expecting muppets to act like muppets and don't like Kermit calling Miss Piggy "sexy"... but for some reason it was kind of easy for me to see the distinction between the two and I didn't find it inappropriate or gross or too much. I can see it maybe being a bit creepy that Fozzie is dating a non muppet... but it was mostly just a satire really... and thats what this is overall. Its just a good Hollywood Satire.

So I thought it was really great. There are lots of Hollywood Satire's out there... including Bojack Horseman... and I typically do like the shows and I'm happy to see one with The Muppets because they're like the kids versions of Satires and they always have very meta jokes and it is sort of a first introduction to comedy for most kids... and if you're like me and love comedy, its probably always been a pretty big deal for you!

So yeah! I really liked it! I'd give it a B+... I don't quite think its an A... but its pretty good and I like watching that and then Fresh Off The Boat and I'll be excited when Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D returns cause I've been binging on that and loving it this week.

What did you guys think? Creepy? Funny? Let me know!

Byeeeeeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
