Scribbles About TV: Scream Queens Review

So one of the shows I was most excited about this fall season was Scream Queens. Its a really great horror movie satire that pokes fun at some shows like it and... its just an interesting show. Its created by Ryan Murphy from American Horror Story and Glee and it is sort of like a combo of the two. Its a lot bitchier than Glee, and its definitely a funny comedy... American Horror story is kind of a serious comedy depending on the season... There are definitely a lot of funny elements to most American Horror Story seasons, and for the most part they end pretty happily... so there is that too.

Alright so onto Scream Queens... it was a lot better than I was expecting it to be! Its really exciting and super funny and a very dark parody. I thought it was really just as brilliant as Scream... it was just awesome. There is a scene where the killer goes after someone... trying not to spoil to much... and he texts her asking if she wants to dance with the devil and then she texts him back and they keep going back and forth even though he's clearly trying to kill her and she should just call 911. And she tweets that she's going to die... its just really funny. It was like a modern even more ridiculous take on the beginning scene of Scream. It was really awesome. Really brilliant.

It was also a 2 hour premier with quite a high body count. Including two flashback scenes there are like... 6 and a half deaths I think. The half death isn't really a death at all... but its a good twist to the show. The deaths were all pretty scary and clever. Some were just stabbed to death, some were "accident" deaths and some were just people in the wrong place at the wrong time type of thing... It seemed to all be framing Emma Roberts character for it... unless she is actually the killer... or one of the killers. I think there may be more than one... and it would be obvious if it were her... but it kind of makes sense.

And its easy to look at and try to figure out the killer or killers because... everyone has a motive, everyone is suspicious and its just really intriguing. It's equally funny and scary which just kind of makes it more funny. Its really well done and I think its a Must Watch that is turning out to be one of my favorite shows.

So yeah. I've only seen like an episode or 2 of Pretty Little Liars... but this really reminds me of that show only its way better. It's not really a guilty pleasure because its self aware of what it is. I am excited to see more of it. I wonder what they'll do in further seasons. I don't see this going on for that many seasons... but at the same time I could see it having a time line similar to Breaking Bad where several seasons may be one year of college or something like that. I could see it being an anthology like AHS... but I think that would get boring pretty fast.

I was really impressed with this show. I an totally see it being amazing and I'm already super excited for tonight's episode!

Byeeee!

Scribbles about TV: Jane The Virgin Review!

This I think is a surprise hit, so of corse I needed to watch it for myself to see! It's been getting a lot of critical buzz because it has been reviewed as "one of the best pilots of the season" and I also have been hearing a few critics saying that they don't think it will last because the word "virgin" is in the title... which is stupid. There is nothing wrong with being a virgin and if a show is good, its good and people should watch it... plus this did bring pretty high ratings for The CW so the critics that said that can suck it! Lol. Overall I really liked this show. One thing thats been bothering me a lot about the new Fall shows is that the characters aren't interesting enough. Especially the female characters. I thought that this showed a lot of really strong female characters that were interesting. This had a pretty big cast with A LOT of stuff going on for a pilot and most of the characters were female. That is a powerful thing to see on TV...

Scribbles About TV: Jane The Virgin Finale Review (SPOILERS)

So.... Can we talk about all the twists because there were a lot! I didn't even see all of them coming! Alrighty we start out in typical Jane The Virgin Mode with Jane's choice between Raphael and Michael... I'd be okay with either but I think I'm team Michael. Jane has a weird moment with Raphael and thinks she's better off without him and just having him be the father of her child. She's also starting to have some feelings for Michael again. Then she almost has the baby on the bus and some woman helps her and gets the bus driver to take her to the hospital. Rogellio and Xo are in Vegas and they get drunk and can't remember what happens, but they make it just in time to see Jane deliver a baby boy. I knew it would be a boy! Lets pause on that a little and go to Michael and his ex partner/friend with benefits who comes back says she has a lead on Sin Rostro, gives him an address where the plastic surgeon is and by the time Michael gets there, he's de...

Man Crush Monday: Jimmy Fallon

Jimmy Fallon is one of my favorite talk show hosts... and I pretty much like all the late night talk show hosts... so that is saying a lot. (I haven't actually watched James Cordin yet, but I have a huge crush on him from Into The Woods, so yeah. I also have a crush on Seth Meyer though... And all the comedy central guys... ugh. Lol. and obviously Jimmy Fallon. Lol.) So yeah... this is saying a lot that he is one of my favorites. 1) He genuinely acts like he has the most fun job in the world-  Jimmy Fallon is always really excited about the show. He pretty much does have the most fun job ever, and he actually appreciates it. He was on SNL, and when he left SNL for late night he was excited and proud of his job, and now on The Tonight Show he's very happy. 2) His Ice Cream Flavors are good- This one is completely random... but I feel like having Ben and Jerry's make an ice cream flavor after you is a really big honor and a great responsibility. You can tell a lot about a...
