Scribbles About TV: NBC Fall Schedule

So here is the network I'm least excited about. All of my favorite shows used to be on NBC... now the only shows I've watched there ended or were cancelled and I don't think there were many new things that looked that good... so I'm concerned. I love NBC as a network, I think overall they've had some of the best tv series ever and I love their late night shows... I might start watching something out of loyalty to the network... but to be honest its not the first thing I'm worried about. Its not like I need any more shows to watch. Lol.

Monday

8pm The Voice- I don't like reality tv shows and Gwen Stefani is on this show and whenever I listen to Gwen Stefani... something terrible happens. So she is banned from my life until after my sister's wedding. Lol. Sorry Gwen! This goes on until 10pm too! Crazy!

10pm Blindspot- This looked cool. Kind of reminded me of Momento or Lucy or something along those lines. I think this looks really good and I think it'll be a big hit. I think its up against something else that I like... and sometimes I don't love watching regular TV that late at night... so I may or may not check it out. Sometimes I don't pay that much attention to a show if I already watch other shows before it. This is on after Jane The Virgin... so yeah...

Tuesday

8pm The Voice- I don't like reality tv and I don't like them having it two days in a row... its just too much.

9pm Chicago Med- My mom is excited about this one. She watches Chicago Fire and Chicago PD. I think those shows are pretty good too and I will probably catch an episode or two when my mom watches them. She usually misses them and re-watches them. My mom's Tuesdays are overwhelmed right now because of the NCIS's and The Muppets... so she may or may not watch this one too... but I think she will and it'll probably be good.

10pm Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris- I don't really know what this is about... but I love some NPH even if the end of How I Met Your Mother made me hate the show as a whole even though I loved it once. I think thats on until November and then Chicago Fire returns.

Wednesday

8pm The Mysteries of Laura- I didn't think this show would last more than a season because the title is pretty bad... but the fact that it made it a second season makes me kind of want to check it out. Probably not terrible.

9pm Law and Order: SVU- There are 2 types of people in this world: People who LOVE  Law and Order and watch it all the time even if they've seen all the episodes all the time... and people who are just so sick of Law and Order that they can't even stand the theme song... which is pretty brilliant... anymore. I'm person #2 because my sister is #1. When she lived here she would watch Law and Order 24/7. It was bad. We can't really stand the show anymore... but it isn't a bad show. I see the appeal... but I've had enough. Still we are almost out of CSI's in the world... I feel like we need a Law and Order.I think it may get phased out soon and the new franchise on NBC will be the Chicago ones... but this is good.

10 pm Chicago PD- I've already talked about this... so yeah. Lol. The crossover episodes are a bit annoying though. My mom was watching one and it ended really abruptly and then the next episode didn't even talk about any of the stuff mentioned in the previous episode because the conclusion of that was on Chicago Fire... Really? lol.

Thursday

8pm Heroes Reborn- I watched the first episode of Heroes when it was on... could not get into it. I thought it looked so good and then just didn't grab my interest. So I'm not going to watch it. My friend Tori probably will.

9pm The Blacklist-My parents really like this show. I think my sister watches it too. I like James Spader... he's kind of a weirdo but a fantastic actor and I'm sure he's amazing in this anti-hero type role. This is up against Scandal though... so...

10pm The Player- No Idea what this is... I'm about to watch a trailer. Something to do with gambling... This doesn't look cool to me. Idk what the plot is. I don't think setting things in Vegas or in a casino immediately makes something better the way that Hollywood thinks its going to. Meh. Might be good... not going to watch because its against How To Get Away With Murder.

Friday

8pm Undateable- Its really sad that NBC had to move its comedies to Friday... They might stand a chance though because nothing else is really on from what I've seen and these are lead ins to Grimm... which is pretty popular and a reasonably good show. Chris D'elia and Ron Funchs are on this... they're really funny guys... but I've never had a desire to see this show. Although this season its all going to be filmed live... so thats cool. I think its Live episode got such high ratings and its probably easier to do a live show, that they just thought this would work for it.

9pm People Are Talking- I haven't heard anything about this show or The Player... and I'm pretty in the know about these things... there were only a few shows from other networks where I was like WTF! But yeah, I'll watch a trailer.  I have no faith in this one already. This might be the first show cancelled this season. First off on the trailer it says its called "Truth Be Told" and on the schedule it says People are Talking... so they changed the name before it even aired but after the advertising... bad sign. Its on Fridays... bad sign. The trailer made no sense and didn't tell me what the show was about, so I don't think it was a pilot... bad sign. The big joke was that they had a hot babysitter and they found out she does porn... not realistic... and also the way they presented it was just offensive to women in a way that makes all men look like pigs also. This show looks TERRIBLE! So yeah... definitely going to avoid that one like the plague... or at least like I avoided One Big Happy... which I watched.

Also People Are Talking and Truth Be Told are both awful and generic titles... I don't get it.

10 pm Grimm- This show is pretty good, but I haven't watched it since the pilot. Its a little like Supernatural or Buffy or something like that... good show. Not my favorite paranormal show, but its a really good one.

Saturdays are just Dateline all night followed by SNL

Sunday is just football.

That is everything! Hope you guys are enjoying TV Week!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...
