Trailer Reviews: Horns, A Merry Friggin Christmas and more

1)A Merry Friggin Christmas- This is a movie that is going to make everyone sad because it stars Robin Williams, and I believe it is his final film role. This is really sad because its hard to ignore the tragedy of it all. Williams looks like he's playing a really funny role, his chemistry with Joel McHale looks on point, this looks like a Meet the Parents type of amazing movie... but its hard to think of this as such a great, feel-good, funny movie when we all know Williams was in a lot of pain whilst filming it. I think it looks good and I'll see it, but its just very real and soon right now.

2) Horns- This movie looks pretty awesome. I kind of want to read the book too. A man is accused of killing his girlfriend and he states that the devil should punish the real killer of his girlfriend... and then he grows horns. It also seems like a crazy small town where they jump to conclusions really quickly and that makes him look more guilty. Its got a gone girl vibe but with a bit of fantasy mixed in. I dig that. Totally want to read the book and see the movie.

3) The Woman In Black: Angel Of Death- I remember wanting to see The Woman In Black but I never actually did. I think it was on the other night and I wanted to watch it but it was in the middle and I'm not going to watch a movie from the middle! I'm not insane! So yeah I have to check this out. It was just a teaser, but it was a scary teaser.

4) Premature- I think this is an indie film, maybe its been out already... not really sure. One of the stars in it is an actress that I think will be the next big thing: Katie Findlay from The Carrie Diaries and How To Get Away With Murder. That makes me want to watch it... but I'm not sold on the concept. It's groundhog day about a guy that gets a little too happy too quick if you get what I mean. I'm not into the whole "every day is the same" thing in movies. I did like that episode of The X Files where every day was the same, but that wasn't the length of a movie. I want to see this movie just for Katie Findlay though. And it does look funny, but again repetitive.

5) Birdman- This looks both epic and stupid. I love that its Michael Keaton, I think the actual Bird Man costume is quite beautiful and the cast looks really really good. Emma Stone, Amy Ryan. I'm not 100 percent sold on the whole thing, it looks like a good movie if you're into that type of thing. It isn't really what I'm into... so yeah.

6) The Scarehouse- This looks offensive to women. I'm out. Ummm basically its if Jawbreaker were a torture porn. It's sick and I don't like the looks of it. Clever concept but this is a whole new way of demeaning women. Feminists were upset about Gone Girl, but there are movies like this... ughh.

It also kind of reminds me of the movie Jenna Maronie made on 30 Rock in Connecticut.

7) Hit By Lightening- This is a Jon Cryer movie that has nothing to do with getting hit by lightening. It looks horrible, but not the worst at the same time... Its probably better than Two and A Half Men... which actually isn't all that bad either. So yeah... if its on Netflix I think I'll actually make a point to watch it. I wouldn't pay for this though.

8) Home Sweet Hell- This is the same plot as Hit By Lightening almost. I didn't actually say what that was about. In Hit By Lightening Jon Cryer plays a man that is signing up for an online dating website and he finds this beautiful woman... but she's married and she says Jon Cryer has to kill her husband. So he tries to.

And then in Home Sweet Hell Some dude who is astonishingly less famous than Jon Cryer plays a man that is married to Katherine Heigl. And she's a cold bitch and so he has an affair with a girl that Heigl gets him to kill. Why are there so many crazy women in comedies? Can we not? These are all slightly misogynistic. Can we stop now? Thanks.

9) Inside Out- Alright a Pixar teaser after all that other bullshit. And it looks really good. The teaser showed all their other movies and made you get the warm fuzzies and then it showed the teaser which showed just how you got those warm fuzzies to begin with! As much as I like animated movies, now that I'm old I hardly ever see them unless they're adorable. Like I think it would be weird for me to see The Boxtrolls or that Jack Frost one... but I loved Wreck it Ralph and Despicable me obviously. Pixar movies I pretty much always see. Except Cars 2, I've seen all of them.

10) Life Partners- This one I'm sure will be on Netflix and I'll definitely see it. It stars Gillian Jacobs from Community along with Leighton Meester and her adorable hubby Adam Brody. Jacobs and Meester are BFFs, Meester is a lesbian and Jacobs is straight. Gillian Jacobs gets engaged to Adam Brody and Leighton Meester gets all jealous and she doesn't like him and stuff. It looks cute and I feel like I'll be able to relate to the characters a lot. I would actually consider buying this movie even. It looks good.

So that is it. I try to do the popular trailers that I see from Facebook News and stuff and then some indie movies that I've never heard of and probably won't watch unless they become free online somewhere... but I like informing everyone.

Byeeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
