Blogmas Day 4: Is It Good? Or is it Christmas.

Sooo today on Blogmas we're going to talk about different movies and songs that... I'm not too sure about. I think it's hard to judge Christmas Movies because these are things I loved as a kid and... I feel like I can't judge those that well and I can't judge Christmas movies that Harshly because I really really like Christmas.

Jack Frost

Soo... I'm not a huge fan of Sentient Snowman... it took me a little while to warm up to Olaf... anyone else isn't really my fave. I'm sure I'll get to Frosty in this too...

Brief synopsis... this singer named Jack Frost has a happy life with his wife and his son... although he's kind of struggling at being a father because he travels a lot as a musician and he just really wants to make it as a musician... and he keeps promising his son he'll be at his games and stuff... and then he doesn't show up... and it's kind of sad that when he keeps promising to get it together and he thinks he's about to get his big break... he dies.

Sooo... like that sucks. It kind of held my attention when I was watching it... up until Jack turned into a Snowman... and then I just kind of stopped... so maybe this is an unfair review since I didn't watch the full thing... but eh? I think if it didn't hold my attention when literally the whole plot of the movie started... it can't be that good.

Sooo yeah... I don't think this movie aged well partially. I think the CGI Technology was actually advanced for the time... but it looks bad now. And they say the snowman looks like George Clooney because he was supposed to play Jack Frost... but the snowman literally doesn't look like anything other than a Snowman. And Kelly Preston, who plays Mrs. Frost is INTO him lol.

Also... Jack Frost wanted to be a great musician and wasn't as concerned about being a great father... and that makes me feel less sympathy for him and I just feel bad for this kid that's idolizing him and he's just not delivering lol.

Soooo overall... it's not good. Will I watch it again next year? Probably.

I won the DVD in a giveaway a few years ago... I don't know if I want to give the DVD away or not. I like having a good selection of Christmas movies... but what are the chances I'll sit down and watch this... maybe for a good laugh because it's bad? But it's not enjoyable like Glitter- it's just kind of hard to watch. Idk.

The Year Without a Santa Clause
I loveee this movie. It is sooo cute and fun to watch! I thought this was really funny as a kid... but as a grown up I just think it's kind of heartwarming and it's very fun to watch. It's sweet that the kids want to give Santa Clause a present... there are some great songs... I like that Mrs. Clause wanted to help and dress up as Santa.

I like Mickey Rooney as Santa too... he's great.

Plus Heat Mizer, Snow Mizer and Mother Nature? Sooo funny!

This is one of the first movies I like  to see!

Disney's A Christmas Carol

So this isn't my favorite animated movie... and I've found it a bit creepy in the past... but now I have it on... Scrooge just met The Ghost of Christmas Present... this is pretty much A Christmas Carol but animated... but animated in such a way that it looks very realistic...

I actually don't dislike it. I'm a fan of Jim Carey's acting... he's especially good when he plays multiple characters or characters with different personalities... so yeah. It's a good story they told in an interesting way... but this is the scariest Christmas Carol I think... I've only seen this once when it first came out and I liked it okay then... but I think when I saw it in 3D it was better... this is one to invest in if you already have a 3d tv... this is worth it... but it's a little weird and not as good as A Muppet Christmas Carol or Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol... but it's still good.

This btw is not the disney movie with Scrooge McDuck... that one I LOVE!

Santa Claus is Coming To Town

This is a good movie... but at the same time- compared to some others it's a little weak in the song department. I think they might play Santa Claus is Coming To Town at the end... but the songs aren't Christmasy. I think The Year Without A Santa Claus is sooo much better because that has some really great Christmas songs. This one has songs... but nothing christmasy. It's a little ehhh in that department. Plus it gets a little lazy at the end... idk. I'm going to  be harsh and say this is only good because of Christmas.

A Charlie Brown Christmas

This is good... my favorite thing to watch first in the season... it's definitely not just Christmas that makes it good.

I think that's all I have for right now! I'll update you more throughout the season!

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
