Blogmas Day 2: My Christmasy Day in NY!

Alright here's a little personal blog about my day in NY!

We went to take my baby niece to see Santa for the first time. We made an appointment with Santa's people and we got to see him! And it was a lot of fun! They really have a nice workshop set up there for Santa! They had little "animatronic" (idk if they're actually animatronic... but they were moving and they were the size of animatronics... so even though their faces didn't move or anything I'm going to go with them being animatronic.) pigs and donkeys and penguins and it was all really cute. They had a big tree with a face that was adorable... and I just really really liked it. I thought they did a great job setting up shop for Santa!

The room where we met Santa was very small and it was hard to get a big family picture in. We had 9 people in our party... including the baby so really 8 grown up people... and they kind of cut off my head and my dad's head in a picture... so keep that in mind. It is more about the baby seeing Santa than anything- so it was fun we could all be there with her. She cried a little and she wasn't really sure about it... but she seemed okay. She was a little hungry.

There's an Au Boun Pan on that same floor at Macys... my sister grabbed a really quick sandwich. They had a Thanksgiving sandwich I wanted to try but I knew I didn't have time to get. Those are my favorite sandwiches though... so if you have time for lunch before your appointment- that's probably a good choice because it's right there.

There's also a Shake Shack nearby... which is where I had dinner and I just really liked it a lot. They had cute sweater cups which I liked a lot.

After seeing Santa we went to the Christmas Markets in Bryant Park and those are fun. There isn't a ton of Christmas things... but they have some fun gifty things and food... which I didn't eat but still... it smelled good! I almost got a Churro or a Waffels and Dinges.

I did get some Magnetic Personalities Finger Puppets. I got Shakespeare and Poe... they had different authors, famous people, pop culture figures... I just like them my sister got me an Alexander Hamilton one a few years ago and I thought I'd get some more. I have a magnetic desk now... so these are useful for that!

After that we went to a small little coffee place called Starbucks. Lol. I got my usual Chestnut Praline and I did get a Holiday Sandwich. This particular Starbucks took a long time... which is rare to find in NY... so not the best Starbucks ever... but still.

And then we went back on the subway to Macys... it was a little scary but still... it's the easiest way to get around. It's hard to bring a stroller because then you need to use the elevators on the subway stops... and they aren't the best place in the world... so yeah.

Then we went to shake shack and took a long ride home thanks to the traffic! But it was all good, A Charlie Brown Christmas was on... which I always love and we watched that and the Disney Parks Christmas Special. So it was a fun way to wind down after a long but fun day!

I hope you guys liked this little christmas-y blog. I had a lot of fun and I hope you guys did too!

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
