Blogmas Day 11-Throwback Thursday: Community Christmas Episodes Season 1-3

Sooo one of my favorite tv shows ever is Community. And some of my favorite episodes are these Christmas episodes! So I thought I would do a little Throwback Thursday with these episodes now that I actually have the DVD box set of every season... so I might do a Throwback Thursday of each season soon... stay tuned if you like Community... but I'm really excited to talk about these Christmas episodes!

Season 1 Comparative Religion

One of the things I should say about Community is that in each season they have a class that they're all in a study group for... and the study group kind of serves as a theme for the season. The first season is Spanish to show that being a Community is kind of a foreign concept to the study group.

This is a great example of how they really perfected that concept. Everyone in the study group has a different religion, and Shirley- the religious Christian of the Study Group is trying to throw a Christmas Party and get everyone into the true meaning of Christmas- which she believes is the religious meaning. Jeff gets into a fight with someone who was mean to Abed (played by Anthony Michael Hall) and Shirley gets angry at him for the fight... but then in the end- goes with him to the fight because I think no matter what you believe, Christmas is a good time to spend with the people you love. And it was also December 10th... not actually Christmas.

I feel like this episode is probably my least favorite of these Christmas Episodes... but it's still an amazing episode... it just falls flat compared with the awesome themes of the other 2 episodes. I feel like this was before Community did the parodies and things that it's well known for... which I really like about it... but at the same time... it almost makes it a little bit weak in comparison to the other 2. I do think they get progressively better... Season 2 is a little better and then Season 3 is in my top 5 favorite episodes... so that's good to know about these... but this is still a great episode. I think this is the one my parents liked the best... my mom had seen a few episodes of Community before- my dad had never seen it... but I knew they would like this one and they thought it was funny. Both of them really like Yvette Nicole Brown... so they thought it was funny.

Season 2: Abed's Uncontrollable Christmas
I really like this one. I thought it was really a clever concept and it was a little risky for the show I thought. Ratings already weren't amazing and then they did one episode that was totally different and it was a claymation Christmas Special? It's a good one. I actually remember watching this one on TV too... it's a good one.

So in this episode Abed believes everyone is in Claymation and the study group tries to help give him therapy to deal with the holidays and they go to a "Christmas Wonderland" and "The Cave of Frozen Memories." This has John Oliver in it and it's one of the best episodes with him in it too! I just love this episode.

Season 3: Regional Holiday Musical
This one is my favorite episode! I didn't think it would age well because it's basically a parody of the show Glee... but it isn't that strong of a parody that it doesn't make sense now that Glee's ended... and you can still appreciate it without watching Glee. It might be a little funnier if you know Glee just a little bit... but it's still really funny and has some of my favorite Christmas songs...

My favorite is Baby Boomer Santa... which always just cracks me up! I like Teach Me How To Understand Christmas too... it's just a funny episode. Jeff gets the Glee Club fired and Abed tries to sign everyone up for Glee Club because he thinks it will be fun for Christmas... but they don't want to get recruited because it's kind of like a cult... and then Abed doesn't want to do it after Christmas... it's really funny.

So... yeah! Those are the Community Christmas episodes! Hope you guys like this!

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
