Chart Chat (1.30.18)

10) Padmaavat 1st week on the charts, 4.9 Million total

This movie sounds pretty good... I haven't heard about it before! It is set in medieval Rajasthan and it is about a Sultan that is infatuated with the queen that is married to a noble king... I'm intrigued. I probably won't see this- I'm not sure if it is playing around me... but it sounds pretty fantastic!

9) Paddington 2 3rd week on the charts. 5.7 million this week, 32.1 million total

This sounds like a very cute movie. I saw a youtube video that was sponsored by Paddington... but it seemed like the parents enjoyed the movie as much as their kids... and their kids ranged in ages... so even though it was sponsored... it sounded cute and it seems like a movie that everyone could actually enjoy.

8) The Shape of Water 9th week on the charts. 5.9 million this week 37.9 million total

This received a bunch of Oscar nominations... despite it sounding... less than amazing in my opinion. Guillermo del Toro directed it and the cast is amazing... so I'm sure it's a fine movie... just maybe not my total cup of tea... I'd see it... but it seems weird.

7) Den of Thieves 2nd week on the chart. 8.6 million this week.28.8 million total

This was one of those movies I was like "yeah... not my thing." I'm surprised it's dropped this far in the charts... but I'm not that surprised because like I said... never heard of this- not my thing. And I just think January is a bad time for movies... it's not the best time to see anything for sure.

6) 12 Strong 2nd week on the charts. 8.7 million this week. 29.8 million total

Again... It's not the best time to see any movie that's not really nominated for anything. This sounds like an interesting story... the cast sounds good... but this isn't sweeping the charts or really getting people to see the movie in theaters. Chris Hemsworth and Michael Shannon are both good actors and they're in this... so it might be good... but it's nothing people seem to be that excited to see... I haven't heard any praise or criticism for this... so maybe it's bad- maybe it isn't... but I don't think this is what people are really looking for.

5) The Post 6th week on the charts. 9.1 million this week. 58.8 million total

This has been on the charts for quite some time... and i believe it's been in the top 5 for most of the time? Maybe not... but this is a movie with an excellent cast and critical praise... nominated for several awards I believe as well... so that's pretty great. Yeah... not much I haven't said about this movie... it's been on the charts for 6 weeks... so yeah.

4) The Greatest Showman 6th week on the charts. 9.6 million this week. 126.5 million total

I've talked about this movie a lot before too on the chart chats... but what I'm really hoping for this is that it kind of helps Zac Effron's Acting Career... because he isn't a bad actor... but I think he needs a little boost. He's been in some very unsuccessful movies... so maybe this will put him on the right track.

3) Hostiles 6 weeks on the charts.10.1 million this week. 12 million total.
This movie kind of came out of no where... I'm guessing it's just been released in more theaters because it only made 2 million dollars in 5 weeks and all of a sudden it's at 10 million. It sounds like a good movie... it has Rosamund Pike and Christian Bale... who are both pretty great actors... just a weird thing where this just came out of no where and it's been on the charts forever and now it's the number 3 movie! Crazy!

2) Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle 6th week on the charts. 16.1 million this week. 337.8 million total.

This movie has been doing great... I think both with people actually seeing it and with it getting fairly good reviews. It's been number 1 on the charts for weeks now... just now slipping to number 2... this is the only thing out right now- so I guess that's why... but yeah. Seems like a good movie... I'm not too hyped to see this- but who knows. If I feel like seeing a movie maybe I will. I do love The Rock.

1) Maze Runner: The Death Cure 1st week on the charts! 24.2 million total.

So let me kind of start out by saying I'm against this movie trilogy. I really liked the first movie- I thought it was wayyy better than the book... but the second movie was weirdly violent and had actual gun violence at a time when we don't really need to see kids with guns. I think that is kind of terrible and I wish that they had stuck with what the book did instead of what they ended up doing in the movie. I don't know why it didn't get totally panned because it was very violent... and this one looks just as violent if not more so... so it doesn't have my approval.

Also there was some controversy of the cast stealing ancient artifacts or something and that was disrespectful and they got in trouble for that... I forget what exactly happened... but yeah this just isn't my movie... I wouldn't recommend it either...

Sooo yeah. I hope everyone likes this little recap. Sorry for ending on a kind of bleak note... but that happens.

Byeee!

Scribbles About TV: Jane The Virgin Finale Review (SPOILERS)

So.... Can we talk about all the twists because there were a lot! I didn't even see all of them coming! Alrighty we start out in typical Jane The Virgin Mode with Jane's choice between Raphael and Michael... I'd be okay with either but I think I'm team Michael. Jane has a weird moment with Raphael and thinks she's better off without him and just having him be the father of her child. She's also starting to have some feelings for Michael again. Then she almost has the baby on the bus and some woman helps her and gets the bus driver to take her to the hospital. Rogellio and Xo are in Vegas and they get drunk and can't remember what happens, but they make it just in time to see Jane deliver a baby boy. I knew it would be a boy! Lets pause on that a little and go to Michael and his ex partner/friend with benefits who comes back says she has a lead on Sin Rostro, gives him an address where the plastic surgeon is and by the time Michael gets there, he's de

Disney Store Closing Haul

So if you read my post from yesterday- you know that I love The Disney Store, but it is unfortunately closing. I did pick up some things from the store that I thought I'd share with you guys! I did get a couple of t shirts. One is a Star Wars shirt, which is technically a men's shirt but I thought it looked really cool and I don't like that Disney doesn't carry the same things for men and for women. For the most part they look unisex to me and a lot of their men's stuff has characters I like better. Like the star wars shirt for women was grey with pink lettering and had no pictures, but the mens shirt had a really cool metallic silver logo on black clothing with pictures of all the new characters and Luke inside of the letters... much cooler! So I got that! The other shirt I got is really funny and it has Sleeping Beauty on it and it says "I Woke Up Like This." Which I really liked! Super cute and funny and my niece likes it when I wear shirts with c

Scribbles About Life: 3.10.16

Soooo... I don't really want to post about my day... but I don't really want to post anything else either. I started writing something about female characters in movies and TV... but I just didn't like what I was writing and... idk... I was a blog writing machine this week and now I feel defeated. I wrote a ton on Monday and Tuesday and now I just don't feel like doing a post today... but I want to write still... So I'll talk about things that I guess are on my mind lately... Idk. So I got this Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor... and for some reason... I'm addicted to the way that it smells. Idk why, it smells like cherry medicine... but I also sort of like it. Its more cherry than medicine... and I can't smell it on my lips... but Idk. I keep smelling it in the tube. I got some cute stuff from American Eagle yesterday too! I got a dress and a romper... I do not own any Rompers... except this one... but it looked good on me and it didn't make me look f
