Hump Day Update 1/31/18

What I'm Watching
Last week I was sick and I was mostly watching Black Mirror... which probably isn't the best thing to watch when you're sick... I have recaps of that coming up on Sundays... I finished up season 4 and then I went back to season 1 and now I'm on season 3... I feel like I might need a bit of a break from it for a few days though... just because it's a heavy show and the episode I watched last night made me kind of uneasy... so I'm just going to kind of proceed with caution when I watch the next few episodes.

I also started watching Arrested Development again... which has been a lot of fun. I love that show it's my favorite tv show ever... and I'm really happy with it!

The Goldbergs 1990 something spinoff special was pretty great. I just liked it a lot. I hope they make that into a tv show...

I also really liked Crazy Ex Girlfriend and Jane The Virgin this week. It was the return of both of those shows... which is pretty cool! I thought they did a great job.

News

I've been watching the Phillip Defranco show lately... I follow the news pretty regularly... but mostly I watch local news that isn't really anything I report on here... but The Phillip Defranco show had an interesting story so I'll mention that...

A girl with Alopecia was attacked at her school by a bully that filmed themselves grabbing her wig and they said "Weave snatchers." The wig was actually attached to her... so it was actually painful how they grabbed it off of her and chunks of her hair were missing and wigs are not cheap I'm guessing... so they actually destroyed this property of hers... the school didn't do that much about it- they gave the kid an in-school suspension and the principal is trying to encourage people not to share the video... he's claiming it is because it encourages this sort of negativity... when in this kind of situation it does not actually do that... it brings awareness to an actual issue... and the girl's parents are pressing charges and the girl has since just stopped wearing wigs to show that she is just as beautiful as anyone with a full head of hair... and I think that kind of reaction is awesome. I'm going to link the video just because I don't know if I got the full story exactly right... but I was saddened about the bullying situation- but I really think this girl is brave and beautiful for how she's taking it and I think she's handling it more maturely than I would have... so here is the link to that video. There's a lot of other interesting and weird things going on right now too.

Food and Drink

When I was starting to feel better last week I had a Vanilla Bean Frappucino that was really good. I liked it a lot... I also had some Ramen from a really good new Ramen restaurant near me that I'll review soon.

Favorites

I'm not sure if this is a favorite or not... but I read the book The Grownup by Gillian Flynn yesterday... that's an interesting one... I'll write about that soon.

And I already did a blog post on The Grammy's... but I did really like them and maybe I'll do a music review on some of the nominated albums soon?

Other Stuff
I did my first youtube collaboration and I'm really excited about that!

I also have a collab coming up on Friday that I'm pretty excited about too and I need to edit for that one!

Byeee!

Disney Store Closing Haul

So if you read my post from yesterday- you know that I love The Disney Store, but it is unfortunately closing. I did pick up some things from the store that I thought I'd share with you guys! I did get a couple of t shirts. One is a Star Wars shirt, which is technically a men's shirt but I thought it looked really cool and I don't like that Disney doesn't carry the same things for men and for women. For the most part they look unisex to me and a lot of their men's stuff has characters I like better. Like the star wars shirt for women was grey with pink lettering and had no pictures, but the mens shirt had a really cool metallic silver logo on black clothing with pictures of all the new characters and Luke inside of the letters... much cooler! So I got that! The other shirt I got is really funny and it has Sleeping Beauty on it and it says "I Woke Up Like This." Which I really liked! Super cute and funny and my niece likes it when I wear shirts with c...

Scribbles About Life: 3.10.16

Soooo... I don't really want to post about my day... but I don't really want to post anything else either. I started writing something about female characters in movies and TV... but I just didn't like what I was writing and... idk... I was a blog writing machine this week and now I feel defeated. I wrote a ton on Monday and Tuesday and now I just don't feel like doing a post today... but I want to write still... So I'll talk about things that I guess are on my mind lately... Idk. So I got this Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor... and for some reason... I'm addicted to the way that it smells. Idk why, it smells like cherry medicine... but I also sort of like it. Its more cherry than medicine... and I can't smell it on my lips... but Idk. I keep smelling it in the tube. I got some cute stuff from American Eagle yesterday too! I got a dress and a romper... I do not own any Rompers... except this one... but it looked good on me and it didn't make me look f...

Throwback Thursday: 13 Going On 30

So I watched this on VH1 around Christmas Time because it was on... they really need to bring this movie to Netflix because it's pretty fantastic and VH1 doesn't get the whole thing. I didn't catch the very beginning... but I did watch most of it from around the time when Matty gives her the Dream House... so sweet. It was a little weird to watch this movie because when it came out, I was 13 or almost 13... and now I'm closer to being 30... but I still felt more connected to the 13 year old Jenna instead of the adults in the movie. Like I'm not totally sure when I turned almost 30... but I don't like it. I'm still 13 year old Jenna who likes the same music as when I was 13 and has kind of the same style as I did then... I don't know... its just kind of a weird thing and I was freaking out a little bit from it. This is also the movie that introduced me to one of my favorite actresses, Judy Greer! I love Judy Greer, she's so funny and great and s...
