Grammy Gossip: 2018 Grammy Recap!

I was really excited for this year's Grammy Award Show... I like watching awards shows and commenting on them and anything with performances are especially fun. And there were lots of performances this time around too- which was really cool!

My personal favorite performances... obviously Lady Gaga... she's my favorite and I just think she did a great job. Kenderick Lamar opened the special and did a really great job with it... it was definitely fitting with all the awards he won last year and this year also... he's really great. Kesha's performance was incredibly moving... it was just so powerful to see all those women together there to support Kesha... I would be in Awe if Cyndi Lauper was performing my song alongside of me. Another moving performance was by some of the best new artist nominees... Alessia Kara, Logic and Khalid... after seeing the In Memoriam ending with Chester Bennington... that was really moving and I thought it was a great performance! And Bruno Mars and Childish Gambino were really great too... Bruno Mars is so fun to watch perform! And I love Childish Gambino and I thought they did a beautiful job with everything.

I was a little sad that Ed Sheeran wasn't at the awards... I would have liked to see him perform... I also would have loved to see Lorde perform... I was upset that she didn't perform anything! She was also the only woman nominated for Album of the year... so that was kind of something to take note of too... I thought Joanne and Rainbow should have been nominated... but they're doing great things on their own anyway... but whatever lol. I want them to be nominated... especially with how unique Rainbow was... I do think Bruno Mars deserved it... but Rainbow should have been nominated.

Alright back to the events of the show... James Corden was a really funny host. I liked the Carpool Karaoke on the subway with Shaggy and Sting... and Shaggy said "wasn't me" which is just really funny. I liked the bit with James Corden's parents going to Hamilton... which apparently they really did! And I liked that James promoted his own movie "Into the Woods" while introducing Anna Kenderick... I love that movie and Corden did such a great job in that too... lol. I just thought he was funny.

And I didn't mention the most moving performance of the night because I didn't actually see it. I missed the tribute to the victims from Las Vegas... but I think it's amazing that they honored the fans that were at a regular concert and unfortunately were killed in a senseless tragedy. From what I saw the tribute was really beautiful.

I thought it was a great year for music and I'm happy I watched the awards!

Bye!
-Shannon

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
