Throwback Thursday: Meet The Robinson's

Alright this was a really cute movie. It came out in 2007... and I wasn't super into the way it looked back then... but my cousins told me it was good and I just kind of want to see every Disney animated movie... so this was on my list... especially since it is on Netflix right now.

And I do have to say... as an adult this is a very childish movie and there isn't a ton of jokes in there for adults to find amusing and entertaining. This isn't something I usually say as a critique... cause usually I do end up enjoying the movies anyway and this really wasn't meant for the parents to enjoy... it is for the kids. I did still find this funny and enjoyable but just know that this is a movie for little kids... and I feel like it might be easy for adults to fall asleep in the middle of it because it isn't the most interesting.

That being said though... I really loved this movie. The message about "Keep Moving Forward" was very sweet and it was an incredibly heartwarming movie.

The movie is about a boy named Lewis that is good at science. A boy named Wilbur from the future brings him 30 years in the future for mysterious reasons because he needs Lewis to help get the other time machine from an evil "Bowler Hat Guy." And I don't want to give much more of the plot away but Lewis feels very welcome in the Robinson family... and they give him the courage to save the future.

I thought the message of the movie was really sweet, because it shows never give up on yourself. You can do great things and have a great future- if you chose to... and it's just a really sweet movie.

Some fun facts about this movie... it's the first movie from Walt Disney Animation Studios... "What? This came out in 2007? How is it the first?" Disney re-branded itself as Walt Disney Animation Studios to differentiate itself from Pixar- which Disney had ended their negotiation with. So this was the first Disney Movie to have the logo with Steamboat Willie before the movie. And the first Disney Animated Movie with the new Computer Animated Logo featured in Pirates Of The Carribean: Dead Man's Chest. Plus this and Chicken Little are the only G rated Computer animated Disney movies... not sure if that is still true... I feel like it isn't but that is interesting.

Slight Sidetrack: I remember as a kid when movies that were clearly kids movies would come out and they would say "This Film is Not Yet Rated" I would always get really scared that they would be rated r and I wouldn't be able to see them... lol. Can you imagine- R- Rated Monster's Inc. Lol.

So that is everything. I would recommend checking this movie out... there are also a lot of references to Walt Disney Himself and Tomorrowland from the theme parks... so if you're a fan of the theme parks and Walt... this is a good one to watch!

Blogmas Day 12: The 12 Days of Christmas Gift Guide

So I thought it would be fun to do a gift guide that every gift corresponds with the price. So like for the first day of Christmas $1 gift that would be good and then up from there. These would be good stocking stutterers and things I just think are unique. $1- Solar Powered Dancers!  My mom loves getting the little dancing solar powered people. We get most of ours from Dollar tree... other dollar stores have them too, they're super cute and fun for $1. Its good to put near any plants that you have that way you know they're getting sunlight. It's a good gift. $2- Mini Coloring Book!  At 5 Below they had some mini travel sized coloring books for $2. I thought these were pretty cool. I got the Botanical one I believe. Really cute and fun! I would recommend! $3-   Ceramic Truck w/ Christmas Tree  I saw this at the Target Dollar Spot and I thought it was cute and would probably make a great gift. If you know someone who has a truck or likes the sort of "rustic C...

Scribbles About Food: Gloria Jeans Pistachio Chiller (kinda like a frap)

So since I'm doing all of the Frappuccino reviews, I thought I would give a shout out to a different coffee chain that I like... maybe even more than Starbucks! But I hardly ever go to it because A) People get your orders wrong there a lot B) I don't really live near one! So Gloria Jeans has some amazing drinks called Chillers that are like Frappuccinos, but they have always had a ton of really good and really interesting flavors. One of my favorite Seasonal ones is the Pistachio Chiller. They had this around this time last year also and its a really good unique flavor. Basically it tastes like pistachio ice cream... but in a frozen coffee form. Its pretty cool! And Pistachio is a pretty underrated flavor in my opinion. I don't get it enough, but I always love Pistachio and Almond flavored desserts and this in particular is really flavorful and just a really good chiller. I don't think there is anything at starbucks that compares to it really, its really different...

Scribbles about Books: Horns by Joe Hill

I picked this book up not too long ago because after seeing the trailer for the movie and seeing it was based on a book I thought "Hey, that looks good. I should read the book." Then my friend gave me a Barnes and Noble gift card for my birthday and I thought "Hey I wanted to read Horns, I should grab that." And I did, and I had to read it around halloween of corse! So this is my kind of horror story first of all. I love that the universe it takes place in is very realistic and very small-town. If you've noticed in some of my other book reviews... I like mysteries that take place in small towns. And its very believable because the world and the characters are all so real. I think its a good book just for that. The book starts out with this guy Ignatious, or Ig a year after his girlfriend Merrin is murdered. He grows horns from out of his head... for no real reason. And then a few chapters in we find out who really did it and then we find out why and that thi...
