TV Roundup- What I think of Some New Shows!

I thought I would just do one whole big roundup of some of the new tv shows... what I think of them, what's working, what isn't working... and just everything!

I did not love Splitting Up Together... I'm going to start out with that. When I saw the previews I was like "Oh, I love Jenna Fisher and I also like Oliver Hudson... but this show is going to get cancelled." And I think I'm right. I think maybe they'll give it a season 2... but it's very similar to The Real O'Neils. The Real O'Neils was a pretty okay tv show a couple of years ago on ABC where the parents got divorced, but the dad still lived in the basement. There was a lot of other stuff going on in The Real O'Neils- and the cast was pretty talented... but I think it's a hard thing for people to relate to when there's so much else on tv right now... I just don't think it really stood up. And this is kind of the same. Jenna Fisher and Oliver Hudson are talented, the creator of the show is really good... I just wasn't laughing... which is the one thing I'd like from a Sitcom... I'm going to give it another chance... but ehhh.

The Chemistry was great... and I don't want to compare the chemistry to the chemistry between Jenna Fisher and John Krasinski on The Office... but it's hard not to and I don't think this will be as iconic as Jim and Pam.

I did not watch the premiere of Roseanne- I did catch the end though and it was cute. I've never seen the original Roseanne... but I do kind of like Roseanne Barr. Roseanne Barr was a pretty big early name for women in comedy... so that wasn't really a thing when the show started and now there are a lot more. I don't think this is something that I'd like... whether it's the old series or the new series... but it's back... cause everyone was begging for it? Lol. Anyway... yeah this is a thing.

You guys know that I love Rise and Good Girls... I also love AP Bio and Champions. I think NBC is really killing it right now. They're back to how they were when they had Community, Parks and Rec, The Office and 30 Rock. They just have so many creative comedies and dramas too... I just think that they're doing a good job!

I think the great thing about AP Bio is the characters... they really defined their characters EARLY on and that is just really impressive. Glen Howerton is possibly even funnier than he was on Always Sunny... his character is just so animated and it's really funny. I did initially compare this too Community... which it is similar too... but I think the main characters are completely different. Jeff Winger was very indifferent and didn't really care about anything that happened to him... whereas Jack cares about everything and overthinks every way to get exactly what he wants and he freaks out if it doesn't go accordingly... so that's what really sets it apart. And the rest of the characters are very big and have a lot of personality and emotion too... it's interesting and good.

Champions is a good one too. I really like Anders Holm and Mindy Kaling... and the kid on the show- JJ Totah and the brother Matthew played by Andy Favreau are also very funny. PS... I looked up to see if Andy Favreau was related to Jon Favreau- director of Elf and Iron Man... he is not BUT he is the brother of Jon Favreau the speechwriter of Barack Obama... so that's pretty crazy and kind of cool. I think it's nice because it's a little different. JJ Totah was on Seth Meyers saying "I feel like every show is a bunch of straight white boys playing soccer and that's cool... but not me!" And that's something important. Totah's character is openly gay and half Indian and you really don't see that a lot on tv.

I liked season 2 of The Santa Clarita Diet... I tried not bingewatching this year... but I bingewatched it and now I'm watching it over again not bingewatch style. I love Drew Barrymore. I really like Timothy Olyphant too... I might try to watch some of his other shows because he's been in a lot... and I like him!

And I like The Joel McHale show on Netflix too... that's sort of what inspired "Shannon Kahermanes: The Show" on my youtube channel Shannon Kahermanes... so semi plug there... but I just like Joel McHale... he's doing a good job. I'm just excited to see what he's doing.

I'm also pretty excited for Alex Inc... which debuts tonight. I'm not a huge fan of Zach Braff... I don't really know why... but this looks good and different and I'm excited to see this. I feel like this will maybe appeal to more people than Splitting Up Together.

I haven't seen much of For The People... but I didn't like what I've seen. I saw some of Deception... but not enough to really comment on whether it's good or not right now.

And that is everything! I hope you guys like this! I'll try doing fuller reviews on some of these... but I don't know.

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
