Spring Reading List!

I've been buying a lot of books recently... and I have to say... I have not been reading a lot recently... so I really need to get on it and read these things! Here's what I have and why I want to read them!

Matched by Ally Condie- This is a Dystopian YA Novel about a society that matches people up at the age of 16. They have a big ceremony and the girls are in one room and the boys are in another and they each get to see who their match would be and learn more about them... I've started reading this and I have to say that I... don't know how I feel about it. It's interesting- I'm really not far in at all in the book... but I'm not drawn in immediately... it's a short book and I should want to read it more... but I just don't.

And I got this book not so much for enjoyment but more because I want to write something that might be similar in tone... although it is not a YA or Dystopian...and I think the theme might be different entirely- but I didn't really know that when I bought this book... so yeah. There's that.

The Siren by Kiera Cass
I just really like Mermaids and Sirens... so I wanted to buy this book because I'm just really interested in Mermaid and Siren folklore... there are so many different theories and hoaxes of mermaids and sirens... and I think it's kind of fascinating. So I don't necessarily know what this book is all about... but I'm excited to read it because Mermaids.

A Series of Unfortunate Events: Books 5-8 by Lemony Snicket

So I need to get book 7 and 8 from this series... but I kind of want to read these before I watch the Netflix Series... I had over a year to read them... and I have 2 of the books... so idk what I'm waiting for really... I should just get to the show or get to reading these... I just really love the series and I love reading the books first. I've read books 1-4 which were featured in Season 1... but I just think these are so clever. I love them!

Ready Player One by Ernest Cline- The movie of this just came out... and I saw the book on sale at Target for under $9... so I wanted to get it! It sounds interesting... I'm not even sure if I want to see the movie... I just want to know what it's all about and I'm interested in it.

A Study in Charlotte by Brittany Cavallaro- This is a mystery novel centered around the relative of  Sherlock Holmes... and it just sounded really interesting. And I love mystery... and Sherlock Holmes is a character I've been pretty interested in for a while. There are so many versions of Sherlock Holmes and he's just a character that's remained popular. I feel like years from now Harry Potter could have a similar situation... although I can't imagine JK Rowling ever letting that happen.

A Hot Glue Gun Mess by Kate Albright- So I've started reading this book... and I put it down for quite a while now... I'm a big fan of Kate- she's known as Mr. Kate on youtube- she does interior design videos and crafting DIY's... she's amazing and I really like her style... the book is really fun to read because even though Kate isn't a household name outside of youtube watchers... she's been famous for a long time and she grew up in a fairly wealthy family... and she's kind of like a hippie Carrie Bradshaw and she just has an interesting life. I feel like this is taking me the longest to read because it isn't really something to read all at once... it's a book of shorter essays and DIY projects that go along with the stories... so even though I'm fairly far into reading this book... I feel like I'll finish it the last.

And that is everything! Let me know if you like these... I may end up re-reading Harry Potter also... so that's something to keep watch for... but until then... these are the books I want to read fairly soon!

Byeee!

Scribbles about TV: Jane The Virgin Review!

This I think is a surprise hit, so of corse I needed to watch it for myself to see! It's been getting a lot of critical buzz because it has been reviewed as "one of the best pilots of the season" and I also have been hearing a few critics saying that they don't think it will last because the word "virgin" is in the title... which is stupid. There is nothing wrong with being a virgin and if a show is good, its good and people should watch it... plus this did bring pretty high ratings for The CW so the critics that said that can suck it! Lol. Overall I really liked this show. One thing thats been bothering me a lot about the new Fall shows is that the characters aren't interesting enough. Especially the female characters. I thought that this showed a lot of really strong female characters that were interesting. This had a pretty big cast with A LOT of stuff going on for a pilot and most of the characters were female. That is a powerful thing to see on TV...

Scribbles About TV: Jane The Virgin Finale Review (SPOILERS)

So.... Can we talk about all the twists because there were a lot! I didn't even see all of them coming! Alrighty we start out in typical Jane The Virgin Mode with Jane's choice between Raphael and Michael... I'd be okay with either but I think I'm team Michael. Jane has a weird moment with Raphael and thinks she's better off without him and just having him be the father of her child. She's also starting to have some feelings for Michael again. Then she almost has the baby on the bus and some woman helps her and gets the bus driver to take her to the hospital. Rogellio and Xo are in Vegas and they get drunk and can't remember what happens, but they make it just in time to see Jane deliver a baby boy. I knew it would be a boy! Lets pause on that a little and go to Michael and his ex partner/friend with benefits who comes back says she has a lead on Sin Rostro, gives him an address where the plastic surgeon is and by the time Michael gets there, he's de...

Top 10 Dating Tips/ Suggestions

So I've been in a relationship for about 2 and a half years... but before that I was single... for a very long time. And I was on dating apps for about a year or so before that... so here's what I learned from those apps. If you want more specific relationship advice I have from being in a relationship... that one might be a little harder but I guess I could do a blog on that too? Idk... I'm not an expert but I think I have some good tips.  Find an App That Works For You  I feel like not all apps work for everyone. I started on Bumble- and I like the app. I love the idea of girls taking the first move- but... I HATE making the first move apparently. So I would just match with a bunch of guys... and never really knew what to talk about. Plus I like having A LOT of info in my bio and Bumble just doesn't give enough space for me. I only went out with 1 guy from Bumble I think and it was bad.  So after that I tried Coffee Meets Bagel... which is terrible. Maybe depending on...
