Scribbles about Food: Review of Dunkin Donuts Cronuts

Heyyyyy everyone, I like to eat things and I happen to love all the limited edition types of things that they have at dunkin donuts and the like. This month they came up with a croissant donut aka a cronut. This was something I was skeptical about when I first heard about it. I didn't think the combo would work together... But after tasting the Crumbs "Crumb-nuts" I was converted. It's just such a light and fluffy delicious treat and I totally fell in love.

I didn't think that the cronut would be sweet enough for my liking. I thought it would be a lot more like a croissant than a donut. With the crumbs cronut... Which you can't get anymore anyway... It was very sweet and flaky but not the type of flaky I expected. I thought it would be more crusty type of flaky like Baklava or like a regular croissant but it's actually very bready and doughy.

Because it is Dunkin Donuts it is much more like a donut than a croissant. If you like glazed donuts,  you will like this because it is basically a glazed donut with the nice soft fluffy bready layers of a crossant on the inside. It is absolutely delicious, I have totally become a huge cronut person. I understand the craze a lot more now... I just think it's absolutely delicious.

This is limited edition... Which is sooo very sad because it is amazing. I would totally like to see this in other flavors as well! If they had a chocolate glazed one that would be amazing! I also want to mention that as you may expect, this is not Gluten Free and I don't think any donuts from dunkin come in gluten free flavors. This isn't something I ever worry about... I'm all about the gluten, but I do have a friend that can't eat gluten and when I posted saying that the dunkin cronut was Shannon approved- she said she wished it came in a gluten free version. And it should! Dunkin should release some gluten free donuts or something.

Definitely a must- taste. Get them while they last, they are amazing. They'll probably have them all through July and maybe for august. I'm not sure. I love the fall foods that they have also. Particularly excited for the white chocolate pumpkin latte. It is one of the best.

That's about it! Let me know if you have tried these and your thoughts!

Byeeeee!

It List: May 2017

Can't believe it's the last day of May... this was a great time for TV... so let's get right into it! 1) Master of None- The second season of this show was really really great! I liked the first season... but this season was just wayyy better to me for some reason... I loved that they had episodes about Italy and about New York... I think they did a really great job and I was so impressed with it... I'll have to watch the first season over again and do a Throwback Thursday on that sometime soon... but until then... season 2 was great! 2) Girl Boss- I finally got around to watching Girl Boss this month too... and I loved that show! At first I wasn't sure if I was going to like it or not... then I just couldn't stop watching it and I finished it in 2 days... which I guess is when I finished all the Netflix shows I'm talking about... but still. Girlboss was definitely really good... and I feel like I could watch this one over and over again too. 3) Unbrea...

Blogmas Day 12: The 12 Days of Christmas Gift Guide

So I thought it would be fun to do a gift guide that every gift corresponds with the price. So like for the first day of Christmas $1 gift that would be good and then up from there. These would be good stocking stutterers and things I just think are unique. $1- Solar Powered Dancers!  My mom loves getting the little dancing solar powered people. We get most of ours from Dollar tree... other dollar stores have them too, they're super cute and fun for $1. Its good to put near any plants that you have that way you know they're getting sunlight. It's a good gift. $2- Mini Coloring Book!  At 5 Below they had some mini travel sized coloring books for $2. I thought these were pretty cool. I got the Botanical one I believe. Really cute and fun! I would recommend! $3-   Ceramic Truck w/ Christmas Tree  I saw this at the Target Dollar Spot and I thought it was cute and would probably make a great gift. If you know someone who has a truck or likes the sort of "rustic C...

Scribbles About Food: Gloria Jeans Pistachio Chiller (kinda like a frap)

So since I'm doing all of the Frappuccino reviews, I thought I would give a shout out to a different coffee chain that I like... maybe even more than Starbucks! But I hardly ever go to it because A) People get your orders wrong there a lot B) I don't really live near one! So Gloria Jeans has some amazing drinks called Chillers that are like Frappuccinos, but they have always had a ton of really good and really interesting flavors. One of my favorite Seasonal ones is the Pistachio Chiller. They had this around this time last year also and its a really good unique flavor. Basically it tastes like pistachio ice cream... but in a frozen coffee form. Its pretty cool! And Pistachio is a pretty underrated flavor in my opinion. I don't get it enough, but I always love Pistachio and Almond flavored desserts and this in particular is really flavorful and just a really good chiller. I don't think there is anything at starbucks that compares to it really, its really different...
