Review Time- Prism by Katy Perry

Sooo I didn't totally know if I wanted this cd or not. I have Teenage Dream and One of The Boys (thats Katy's first cd name right?) And I liked them enough, so I decided to buy Prism also. I don't know what it is, but if I have the first cd -from a female artist particularly- I will go out and buy their other cds just to see how they grew and changed and it just inspires me and empowers me. Also my mom out of the blue mentioned that she really likes Katy Perry, so I thought I'd leave it in the car for her after I downloaded it.

I wasn't expecting too much out of this album, I wasn't crazy about Roar and Katy Perry seems to be someone I get tired of easily... but honestly I love this cd! It really is inspirational to me, and Katy Perry is a pretty good artist to listen to if you want to be inspired. Firework, obviously is inspirational and a lot of her other songs are as well.

Not only that but this girl, I think has such a big heart and I think it really shines in her music. I don't love talking about celebrities personal lives, but it is super apparent in a lot of her music. I really think she loved Russell Brand and I to this day am sad that they broke up. I'm a pretty big Russell Brand fan and I know that he has a lot of addictions and problems, and Katy knew all of these things about him and she accepted it and loved him for it. Her father was a drug addict also and he turned his life around so she truly believed that Russell could too... and he did but the marriage fell apart in part because of those addictions. And I'm fans of both of them, but I don't think that Russell will find someone to love him the way that Katy loved him and thats sad to me. The song Unconditionally makes me think that she really wants someone to love her the same way that she will love them, and I really think Katy deserves that.
Again, I don't know that this is the case for these, they are celebrities, its not like we hang out in the same circles or anything I just feel that way and I have always admired Katy Perry for that reason.

Anyhoo a lot of the songs have a nice 80s vibe to them, which I LOVE! If I didn't know Katy Perry sang some of them I would think that it probably was an 80s song. All the songs are super catchy and great.

I think my favorite songs on the cd were Birthday, This is How We Do, and International Smile. International Smile is such a feel good happy song that you will fall in love with it immediately. Birthday is a nice 80s-ish song thats super catchy and is pretty sexy. This is How We Do is a super fun girl's night song. I feel like that would be a good song to listen to while getting ready to go out on the town or something.

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
