See it or Skip?- Mini Reviews

Since Netflix/ Amazon/ On demand websites have a lot of movies that maybe you didn't see in theaters or anything I'm going to write about those. They're basically movies I missed, but maybe you want to watch or something. I don't want to go into great detail or anything, but I'll go into some detail just cause I've seen these movies now and I would like people to know whether or not you should see them or not.

Conception- This is on Netflix, I watched it a few months ago. It was an ensemble comedy with all different plotlines about how babies were conceived. It was clever and a lot of it was funny... but it was just weird. There was a lot of sex and it was just kind of weird. It was basically about people having sex and how/why and what happened after. I don't love ensemble comedies and this one was just a bit weird. I'd say SKIP IT!

The Puffy Chair- I like Mark Duplass. This was an early film of his that he made with his brother and his (now) wife. (idk if she was his wife yet then... not sure how long ago it was.) Anyhoo it was about them breaking up and stuff... it was kind of sad and very meaningful also. It's NOT A SEE OR SKIP. It's not like it has an amazing plot or its something really memorable... but its good enough to not skip I think.

Spring Breakers- I was surprised I actually sat through the whole thing of this. It was actually quite entertaining. I thought there would be a lot more violence and action and less sex. There was a lot of sex. Ummm not bad acting. Was thinking it was mostly about Selena Gomez and I thought her part would be more controversial... but she was the good girl. The end I didn't love, but the more I thought about it the more I liked it. It was pretty badass. James Franco was amazing, the rest lacked character development. Definitely Worth Watching.

Celeste And Jesse Forever- I love Rashida Jones. I love Andy Samberg. I like the idea of this movie. Didn't love the movie, but I don't hate it either. Actually I kind of like it, good acting and a pretty good storyline. It does drag on a bit, but it isn't too bad with that. Also lacks character development... But I'd say Worth Watching. Actually maybe just skip it.... it wasn't horrible but it was kinda boring. Actually I kind of want to watch it again now... I'd still say skip it though!

Fun Sized- Honestly, I could not even finish this one. It was really bad. I thought it looked cute on the trailers... wondered how bad it could be... but it was bad. It just didn't make sense. At the beginning of the movie the girl says she's so excited for Halloween and that everyone in Cleveland loves Halloween because it's Cleaveland and there's nothing to do other than that I guess... clearly this girl has never seen 30 Rock. There were a lot of other elements to the story that just made no sense. It's not exactly for my age group... but I don't think it's really good for any age group. Avoid by all means neccessary!

Mommy Dearest- Forgot about this one! Didn't catch the end because Rocket Power came on and I wanted to see that... but I really really liked this. It apparently got a bunch of Razzie awards and really bad reviews... but I totally did not get that. I thought it was fantastic. I guess now its seen as a more campy movie and I guess I'm a fan of that... so that might be why. If you like real-life movies and celebrity gossip and stuff like that, you may like this movie. I'd say for sure See it!

The Bling Ring- I wanted to see this movie a lot when it came out... but it got pretty terrible reviews so I was like "meh I'll wait till its on tv" and I have to say I really liked it. Sophia Coppola did an excellent job. There was no character development but that's just because the characters were all so vapid they had nothing to develop. It was a good movie about celebrity and infamy and it did have a Bonnie-and-Clyde type feel. I'd say definitely See it!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
