Review Time! Community Season 5 So Far

Community is one of the best shows on television. After season 4... aka "gas leak year" when Dan Harmon left... it was not one of the best shows on television so much... but Dan Harmon has returned and that made me all that more excited for season 5.

Now I didn't think season 4 was actually that awful... but you could tell it wasn't really "Community." I thought the writers did an okay job, I thought the Kevin Chang thing was pretty funny and it was kind of funny when they tied up the professor... but it wasn't really the best of all the seasons. I thought that if the season 4 finale was the series finale, it would have been a good finale, but I was very happy for season 5 because it didn't feel the same.

That being said, season 5 has not disappointed... at all. A lot of times with Community I'll like the episode after watching it one time, but the second time I don't like it so much... this year I feel like I could watch these episodes over and over again without it getting old. I'm going to go into a little detail on what I thought of each episode... just because it's kind of important.

Episode 1: Repilot
This just felt like classic Greendale but with a new spin... almost like the darkest timeline, everyone has graduated but no one is doing what they want with their life. It is something I'm sure I'll face next year. Everyone basically becomes a versions of themselves that they hate. Annie's job involves some shady drugs, Brita is a bartender, Shirley's husband left her again, and Jeff is a bad guy lawyer again. Greendale seems to have failed them yet... they can't leave. Greendale is who they are.

I think my favorite part of the episode is when they destroy the study table and build the new one. They're designing it in a class for building birdhouses, which they fail because they build a table... something about that is just so funny to me.

Episode 2: Intro to Teaching
I feel like this episode... and kind of this season have been very Jeff and Annie heavy. They may be my two favorite characters and idk if I "ship" them... because its Community and shipping people would be ridiculous... but I like them together a lot. They have funny banter and they are both just so great.

The part with the Minus grades being fake is something I wonder any time I get an A-... why not just give me an A, because you don't like me enough? Yes, probably. Lol. Every single student knows that!

Episode 3: Basic Interglutial Numismatics
This may be my favorite episode of the entire series so far... it's just good writing.  There is a bandit on the loose that puts change in peoples buttcracks... How is that not the best thing you've ever seen on television?

And just they create so much suspense. Is it Duncan? Duncan's back! Is it Starburns? Starburns didn't die? Is it Jeff or Annie? Why do they like putting change in people's butts so much? Why do they like Dave Matthews so much? Could it be Chang or the Dean? And like it's just so funny because it gets you to care about this absolutely absurd and ridiculous situation.

And sadly Pierce Hawthorne dies... which we kind of knew was coming because Chevy Chase was kind of a dick to the writers of the show... but we still love Pierce and we still mourn his loss as well.

Episode 4: Cooperative Polygraphy
Ohhh that's a funny title because it's a callback to Cooperative Caligraphy in Season 2 where Annie holds everyone hostage in the study room until they find out who took her pen. And they all turn against each other only to realize no one took her pen in the first place. It was Annie's Boobs that took it.

Anyhoo this episode is no different. Pierce isn't even alive and he still brings out the worst in all of them by trying to investigate if anyone murdered him. The thing I loved most about this episode, which again makes it one of my favorites of all time probably, was that Pierce's character was still there... and I don't mean to insult Chevy Chase by what I'm about to say because I'm really a big fan of his and I do think he is a legend... but so are the writers of Community. And it was the writers that really made Pierce the character that I loved because they are some of the best and funniest writers in the world and the show will still be absolutely amazing without him... but his character is still there. This was very much a Pierce episode, which have been some of my favorites, and Pierce wasn't even there.

When I'm a television writer- which will happen- and I have to deal with any actors or actresses that are being divas... I'll just refer to this episodes. Characters can still be around without the actors that played them and that to me shows great writing.

I don't know I just felt that that was a really great and inspiring episode. I absolutely loved it.

So season 5 has probably been my favorite thus far... I should really rewatch season 2 and 3... maybe even 4. But these 4 episodes have been really really great!

So yeah, if you don't watch Community yet... you should definitely check it out. It is one of the funniest, most well written shows on tv and I friggin love it!

Byeeeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
