Sooo... there is no "BEST SONG OF ALL TIME." Everyone has different tastes in music... no one will ever agree on everything. But I bet a large amount of people would agree on at least one of these songs... They probably deserve to be in the top 5 of all time at least.... or you know... at least like one of these songs.
These are mostly Classic Rock songs... I feel like that's maybe a genre most people can kind of get on board with.
1) Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen
Does anyone dislike this song? It's by Queen... how could anyone not like Queen? This is unlike any other song really... it's totally crazy and out there... every part of the song is a little bit different... so it doesn't really get boring or anything. It starts out slow but then it gets faster and better as it goes on. It is just an awesome song that everyone has probably heard in their life at some point or other... and the reaction is probably pretty positive. I'm alway happy to hear it on the radio.
2) Life on Mars by David Bowie
I can't stop listening to this song right now! It's just a really great song. I'm not quite sure this is my favorite song ever... but it might be my second favorite song. My favorite song is also from Bowie. It's called Soul Love and it's beautiful. Anyway Life on Mars- awesome song... I feel like I love it as someone that writes and often feels uninspired... I don't like seeing the same thing 10 times or more- I want to see something new and different. It's just a really meaningful song to me right now... and I think it's pretty awesome!
3) Time After Time by Cyndi Lauper
Even April Ludgate likes this song. If you don't like this song you might be dead inside or something. I remember hearing this one time when I was in a cab... and I was happy because I had just seen my boyfriend at the time...and then I was like "awww this is a sad song." And... I guess that isn't a great story- but it is a great song and I still love it and it is what I have on my dating profile as "The song that makes you cry." And really there are a lot of songs with the potential to do that... but this song I thought would be the most relatable song to mention... so yeah!
4) Welcome to The Jungle by Guns and Roses
I just watched the new Jumanji movie... which is called Jumanji: Welcome to The Jungle- and obviously they play this song at the end because why wouldn't they... but this song in general just makes everything kind of better and it just makes the movie as a whole work really well. Great song. I feel like I don't know any other Guns and Roses songs... and I'm not sure if I would like any others... but this is a great one.
5) Superstition By Stevie Wonder
One time my friend and I were blasting this song in her car because we weren't really sure what song we wanted to listen to and I think she said "Soul" and I was like "Stevie Wonder!" So we ended up blasting this and someone waiting for a bus yelled "Yes! I'm feeling this music right now." And that was the best thing that anyone has ever shouted at me... lol. And it's because this is definitely a song so many people can relate to and love!
So I think that's all I have to say. The David Bowie Exhibit really made me think of music on a deeper level and I thought it'd be fun to tell my stories with it.
Bye!
