Alright! Hope you guys are liking Toy Story Tuesday so far! This is the movie I feel like I watch the least out of all 3 movies... but it's still pretty important to shaping what Pixar is known for and it's just a great movie that I feel like I overlook too often.
Okay so Toy Story 2... I'd say the funniest of the 3 Toy Story movies... this also seemed like the most adventurous of all the Toy Story Movies. I think the funny thing about these movies is that the Toys are on this HUGE adventure and in reality they are usually only a few minutes away from their home. I don't think Sunnyside was that far, Sid was just RIGHT next door to Andy and Al's Toy Barn isn't too far either... but with this one they also go to the airport and the stakes are pretty high because they're going to Japan.
So... the most memorable part of Toy Story 2... the part that will kind of stick with you no matter what is the part where you learn Jessie was abandoned by her kid "Emily"... and they play that sad song that Sarah McLaughlin sings... it's just such a sad scene that I think is the first time Pixar really "went there" with these incredibly emotional scenes. I think Finding Nemo was kind of the first full movie that really went there and had it as a super emotional movie... but this was definitely the first scene that could just ruin you.
So that's kind of funny that it's both the funniest movie and the movie that I think would make me the saddest out of the first 4 Pixar movies. I guess Monster's Inc is a little bit funnier... but this is still really funny and just a great movie in general.
This movie really kind of shows the "childhood innocence" of the whole series... which I'm going to kind of explain here... a lot of times something isn't the same in Andy's room. Woody won't be in the same place where Andy left him- but Andy won't notice. Andy has 2 new toys in his room that he just assumes are from his mom... but they aren't. Even Al has no idea what exactly happened to the toys that were supposed to be sent from Japan. It's all kind of innocent and obviously they aren't thinking "Ohhh the toys come to life and that's obviously why all these things are different." They just think "hey this wasn't here before and now it is... cool!" And that's kind of a beautiful way to show childhood innocence in my opinion.
So that's about everything! Hope you guys like this! Next week will be Toy Story 3... and then I don't know what I'm going to post! Lol. Maybe I'll do a round up saying some more about all 3... maybe I won't!
Bye!
