Marvel Monday: Captain America- The Winter Soldier

Okay back with another Captain America Review! I know I did the Civil War Review before I actually started Marvel Monday... so idk if you saw that review or not... but I'll link it right here and hopefully you guys will check it out and like it. I loved Civil War and I thought the clear side to be on was Team Captain America... and I think this movie just kind of strengthened that belief for me... which is why I'm happy I'm watching the Marvel Movies out of order... just because at this point when soooo many Marvel movies have been released... I feel like it almost works better watching it as a Prequel than anything else.

So anyway... I feel like super hero sequels usually start out pretty fast which makes it a little more exciting than the original movies... not that I've seen the original Captain America yet... but still! This one I think started out particularly fast... and there was so much going on that it seemed like The Winter Soldier himself was barely in the movie... even though he's sort of the co-title character.

I also feel like this movie is probably different for someone that knows a lot about Captain America vs someone that doesn't know much about him... I feel like the revelation of Bucky Barnes being The Winter Soldier could have been really awesome... but I also liked the dramatic irony that the Audience knew it was him, but the characters didn't know yet. I don't know. I guess he's in the first movie anyway- so if you saw the first one you would know... but if you're like me and you watch them out of order and you didn't know... that would be a cool reveal. Although... I also suppose I just spoiled it for you... so there's that.

This also introduced one of my favorite Marvel Characters- which is Falcon. I loved Falcon in Civil War because he is kind of a side kick to Captain America... I frequently have dreams that I'm also a side kick to Captain America- so I feel like we're a team. Lol. I also like how loyal he is to Stephen during the Civil War stuff... he breaks the law and gets into a lot of trouble for being on Stephen's side... he almost even got killed... so yeah he's a pretty badass guy to have on your side and I just like him. I liked seeing his origin... Stephen knew he could trust Falcon and even though I would guess Falcon wouldn't really want to fight any more wars... he did for Stephen and because he knew that was right. I just liked how even a somewhat minor character got such a good backstory.

Also... lots of twists... I felt like right from the beginning the whole movie was pretty much twist after twist. The fact that Black Widow was there for a different mission... then Nick Fury gets killed... but oh wait he doesn't... and then all this other stuff happens. It's just got so much going on... it's all pretty amazing and awesome and... I feel like this might be the most surprising Marvel movie I've seen so far.

So yeah... this was a really great one. Would highly recommend checking it out!

Bye!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...
