Marvel Monday: Iron Man 3 Review

Okay! So as much as I love Marvel now... the whole reason that I never really got into the Marvel Movies was because I did not like the first Iron Man. I don't know what it was... I just could not get into it. I've basically been trying to watch the movie since it came out... not my thing. I don't dislike Iron Man as a character- I actually think he's the perfect character to anchor the MCU... and I love his foil with Captain America- I actually think this movie showed their differences perfectly even though Captain America wasn't even in it. I just loved a lot about the movie and I'm excited to tell you guys how I liked it.

First... let me talk about why I like the dynamic of Iron Man vs. Captain America. Tony Stark is a wealthy man that basically made his money developing weapons- and I'm not a huge expert on this subject matter- but there is a big ethical issues with that... and Captain America is a soldier. He's fought in wars and seen what weapons can do... so just who their characters are in general make for a really cool dynamic between the characters. Plus it kind of makes for a different genre change. Captain America movies are pretty much Marvel's version of War Movies and they're focused on the characters usually... and Iron Man kind of focuses more on technology and weapons. This movie of everything that I've seen so far kind of showed the differences the best... and I can see how it ends up connecting a little better with Age of Ultron and Civil War.

The villain in this movie- I loved. I don't typically get scared watching horror movies- but Batman villains always scare me and creep me out. I'm more into psychological horror... and I think Batman villains are a little more psychological. The villain in this reminded me of a batman villain because of that. We even got to see his origins a little bit too... it was really cool! I just like the way that he was introduced to us and his powers were pretty cool too!

Ben Kingsley was also great in this movie. His cameo wasn't all that big- but still! I thought he was really great in this and I kind of needed to mention him. My mom was pretty excited to see him in here- and I agree! He was really good and added a little bit of a twist to this movie... which had a lot of great twists to begin with!

Overall... this was a really fun movie! I feel like I can kind of rank the movies I've seen right now... so let me tell you what I've seen and then I'll let you know what I like best.

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
