A Day At The Point Pleasant Boardwalk

So- I think I talked about this recently... but on my summer Bucket List I wanted to go to the Point Pleasant Boardwalk... maybe I didn't mention that... I don't remember but I just did this yesterday- July 8th my time... and it was a lot of fun!

The Point Pleasant Boardwalk was one of my favorite places to go as a kid. My parents and grandparents used to take me. We were so excited to finally bring my niece... but I was also pretty excited to just go for myself... not going to lie. I love it there! I don't really do the rides anymore- I did go on the Carousel with my niece and my sister and brother in law... but yeah. There aren't tons of rides for adults- which is fine but it's still fun!

My big thing when I was a kid were the arcades... and that is what I'm most disappointed in right now. It is IMPOSSIBLE to win at the claw machines. I used to be sooo good at the claws... but then after Hurricane Sandy- they changed it and made it a lot more difficult to win at the games... so it was really difficult... we maybe spent $5 on it all together- didn't win anything. I tried for a minion and a deadpool. My sister came really close to winning a Cookie Monster... but she didn't. It was kind of sad... but we tried anyway. Hopefully it will get better one day. They have some midway type games... didn't play any of those- but those can be fun.

The food is always fun though! They have every sort of carnival or boardwalk food you could want there. For lunch we went to a place called Martel's- which has a regular grill, they have a tiki bar... and then we have the Lobster Shack which is new- and that's where we ate. I don't remember if it was called Lobster Shack... but it was something like that. I had an Avocado Burger- they had a good selection of seafood and non seafood options on the menu. My mom and I had burgers and they were pretty good. My sister had fish and chips and she liked them. My dad got a good Lobster Roll that he liked. It was nice. I love Martells for their Pork Roll and Cheese... and this is a nice little addition to that restaurant.

And my parents got fudge and nonpareils... I'm excited to eat some of that. My dad and I got Waffle Ice Cream, my sister got Lemonade. They also have a Kohr's ice cream stand- which has some good stuff.. I think they have a good orange juice  type of drink their. Dippin Dots- which you can get in Soda Floats now... which is awesome. Funnel Cake is a favorite of mine... I didn't have any of those... but I get excited seeing the options and what other people do.

So yeah we just went on 2 rides... well my niece did. She went on the Train with her mommy and the Carousel. She had fun until they started to move and then she got scared. She seemed to like everything else about the boardwalk though! She loves being outside on nice days and she was happy to people watch and walk around. So that was a lot of fun!

Overall everyone had a great day! It was a lot of fun and I thought I'd share that with you guys!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
