Scribbles about News: Feminist stuff!

This is really cool! Goldie Blox has a new commercial out announcing its new action figures made for girls. I think Goldie Blox is kind of a cool company because it originally started with science toys targeted for girls and now they have these really cool action figures made for girls. This commercial is quite brilliant also. Beauty isn't everything. Everyone is beautiful in their own unique way and they shouldn't have these unrealistic expectations for women. Its very nice to see that girls can play with action figures now. I'm so jealous that I didn't have these growing up, but I'm happy these exist for my own kids.

In other feminist related news, Aerie sales have gone up since their campaign to not use photoshopped women to sell their merchandise. Good for them! American Eagle is my absolute favorite store and I buy most things at Aerie. Not to be TMI, but the quality of their underwear is wayyyy better than Pink, and I like their hoodies and leggings better also. To be fair, their models are very skinny naturally. I haven't seen anyone that looks like me modeling... but who's to say there isn't and that there could be one day. Who knows maybe I'll model for them... no I won't lol. Not just because of my size, I'm too clumsy to walk the runway! But if it gets me free American Eagle and Aerie stuff I'd do it!

So there you go everyone! Cate Blanchett was right, the world really is round and women are important! Hope you've enjoyed this small feministy scribble about news... I probably won't have stuff that happened this week because this was the only news I really liked of the week!

Byeeeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
