Scribbles about TV: Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Review

Heyyy guys! I wasn't sure when I was going to finish Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. It was developed for Network Television, so I wasn't going to binge-watch it... but honestly I can't help myself. If its there to binge, bingers gonna binge. I think I'm going to watch it again one more time whole... cause I already started to do that, and then watch it on a more weekly basis. Kind of gives you an idea as to how much I like this series as I'm already talking about watching the entire season 3 times...

So the show is about a regular girl that was taken into a cult when she was a teenager and kept underground until she was 29 years old... and she escapes and realizes that she doesn't want to just be a "mole woman" her whole life. She wants to escape her past in Iowa, where she was taken and live in New York City.

And she's an adult with an adult brain and everything, but she doesn't understand the world today... so hijinx happens. Lol. She goes to Dylan's Candy Bar and wants to eat candy for dinner, she buys a pair of light up sneakers... theres just a lot of funny stuff that she does. And she refers to the present as "the future" which is funny.

The cast is absolutely brilliant. Ellie Kemper is one of the funniest and most underrated actresses I feel like. I thought The Office was going downhill a little bit and when Ellie joined the cast I thought there was more of a life to the show. Titus Burgess plays her roommate Titus Andromedon, you may know him as Defwan from 30 Rock... I'm also really happy that he has more of a starring role in this. I loved Queen Of Jordan and would totally watch a Kroll Show type of spinoff just of the reality shows in 30 Rock. Carol Kane is amazing as the landlady (you may know her as Mrs. Copplebott on Gotham) and her relationship with Jacquelin, played by 30 Rock's Jane Krakowski is really funny. They don't meet until the season finale... but they really are a perfect pair. The chemistry with all of these characters and actors just really really works and they're all rather underrated and it seems like these parts are made for them. I think this show is going to make them all really big stars and that makes me happy.

This is something that you will love if you loved 30 Rock. Thats kind of obvious since they were both created by Tina Fey... very different shows, but they are set in the real New York... which is something that not many shows are. Lol. Like last few times I've been to New York I've seen some things I haven't seen anywhere else... except maybe Newark, which I lived in for 4 years and visited quite frequently for like another half of a year. Soooo yeah. I have seen weird things. Not unlike the things in these 2 shows.

I also love the music of the show. Its similar to 30 Rock but it is a whole separate thing also. Its so good, it just makes you feel good and like anything is possible. Tina Fey's husband does the music for both shows, and if you like scores, you'll really like these two shows for the music alone. If you can, listen to the 30 Rock sound track, its funny and happy and just really good and catchy and brilliant. And this is also good, catchy brilliant, and has some amazing songs a la Muffin Top. I love that these shows have fake songs, but don't rely too heavily on them. It just helps.

30 Rock, also known for its guest stars. This is no exception, even though its just in its first season. I don't want to give away who The reverend of the cult is... I'll give some hints though... He's been in a movie with Ellie Kemper before, he guest starred on 30 Rock and he is most well known for a dramatic role. He was also Ellie Kemper's acting teacher... and he's very hot. Thats enough of a hint. Tina Fey is also a guest star, kind of a spoiler... but its expected. And Nick Kroll is also a really funny guest star.

This is also very satirical. These are a lot of over the top things that wouldn't happen in real life... which is how I like to write and something I love in tv shows... Its just really really great overall... Probably one of my favorite shows ever. Definitely recommend it. I just cannot get enough. I love it!

So yeah... if you liked 30 Rock... this is just as good, I'd say. Maybe not quite as good... definitely not better... but probably just as good. Lol. I need to watch 30 Rock again now... cause I can't get tired of that show either. Lol.

Hope you guys like the show!

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...
