Man Crush Monday: Flight of The Conchords

My most recent re-obsession has been Flight of the Conchords. It is a brilliant brilliant comedy that ended a while ago and it shouldn't have ended at all. It should still be on. It was sooooo ahead of its time. If it were on now it would probably be a hit. I saw it as a hit back then because it was hilarious and amazing... and clearly everyone on this show is crush worthy... but I'm going to focus on mainly Brett and Jemaine... I think. But Rhys Darby, Arj Barker, and Eugene Mirman are also in this show and are just amazing. And the guy that played Gale on Breaking Bad... lol. ANYWAY here is why they are my man crushes.

1) They're amazing together and separately- Both of them together are absolutely amazing, but Jemaine is more of an actor and a comedy guy and Brett is more of a musician. Brett has an Oscar for his work on The Muppet Movie. Jemaine has a been in a bunch of indie comedies. He has a movie I think is out now called What We Do In The Shadows that looks really funny. Its about a vampire reality show or something like that... I need to see it somehow. Lol. The combo of them together though is just PERFECT though.

Jemaine appeared in Muppets Most Wanted, singing music that Brett McKenzie wrote and they have toured together recently and I WISH I WENT! Hopefully they come around again. I have also heard rumors about reunions and possibly a musical I believe... which should definitely happen because Brett McKenzie could totally EGOT! He already has a Grammy and an Oscar. I don't think he has an Emmy... which is funny cause he's probably most known for the TV show... but he NEEDS a Tony too now!

2) The show is just so real- They are so broke, untalented and dumb... which I find relatable lol. Its a little like Broad City only they are from New Zealand. Thats probably why this would work so well today because Broad City is such a success this would be too. I've probably been through a lot of these situations myself and handled it similarly... not that I'm dumb but I'm a bit awkward and these things happen... lol.

3) The Songs are really good and really catchy- I'm the Hip hop hipotamous my lyrics are bottomless... They call me the hip hop hipotamous flows that glow like phosphorous I'm not a large water dwelling mammal where did you get that preposterous hypothesis did steve tell you that perhaps... Steve.

My records and rhymes they don't get played because my records and rhymes they don't get made and if you rap like me you don't get paid and if you roll like me you don't get laid.

I didn't look up those lyrics, I just know them because they're a part of my soul now. Its so catchy and so funny... even if they weren't a comedy band I'd think they're really good. I almost cried when Jemaine was singing in Muppets. Lol. I was so happy with them. I love Flight of The Conchords and the Muppets. But yeah, I could probably sing any of their shows in public with no shame just from memory. It was amazing.

4) The show is so different, creative and amazing- This show should have been like Seinfeld or something. I did a whole rant on that in my Scribbles About TV post... and basically there are a lot of famous comedians that are pretty famous now, but they weren't necessarily before the show, but they were pretty big. And now they're super famous. And its even funnier. I feel like its a big deal to have been on Flight of The Conchords.

And also... its so different. I remember watching the pilot when I was like... 15 maybe and thinking "this is weird. Its funny but its not like anything I've ever seen." and I actually missed the second episode and almost gave up on it but decided to watch the third episode which is Mugged... which is one of the funniest things ever on television... just so sooo good and it really is really different. Once they broke into the musical number I was like "wow this is weird and amazing and sooo funny!"

And yeah that is everything I think! Hope you guys liked it!

Byeee!

It List: May 2017

Can't believe it's the last day of May... this was a great time for TV... so let's get right into it! 1) Master of None- The second season of this show was really really great! I liked the first season... but this season was just wayyy better to me for some reason... I loved that they had episodes about Italy and about New York... I think they did a really great job and I was so impressed with it... I'll have to watch the first season over again and do a Throwback Thursday on that sometime soon... but until then... season 2 was great! 2) Girl Boss- I finally got around to watching Girl Boss this month too... and I loved that show! At first I wasn't sure if I was going to like it or not... then I just couldn't stop watching it and I finished it in 2 days... which I guess is when I finished all the Netflix shows I'm talking about... but still. Girlboss was definitely really good... and I feel like I could watch this one over and over again too. 3) Unbrea...

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Scribbles About Food: Gloria Jeans Pistachio Chiller (kinda like a frap)

So since I'm doing all of the Frappuccino reviews, I thought I would give a shout out to a different coffee chain that I like... maybe even more than Starbucks! But I hardly ever go to it because A) People get your orders wrong there a lot B) I don't really live near one! So Gloria Jeans has some amazing drinks called Chillers that are like Frappuccinos, but they have always had a ton of really good and really interesting flavors. One of my favorite Seasonal ones is the Pistachio Chiller. They had this around this time last year also and its a really good unique flavor. Basically it tastes like pistachio ice cream... but in a frozen coffee form. Its pretty cool! And Pistachio is a pretty underrated flavor in my opinion. I don't get it enough, but I always love Pistachio and Almond flavored desserts and this in particular is really flavorful and just a really good chiller. I don't think there is anything at starbucks that compares to it really, its really different...
