Woman Crush Wednesday: Retta

1) Her twitter- I mentioned Retta's twitter in my Parks and Rec Recs because its one of the really good twitters. She watches good shows and live tweets, I think she still does that... I'm not super into twitter. But hers make me smile. She tells it like it is and she's cool. She's a cool twitter person to follow, so you should follow her to be cool. Peer Pressure! Lol. (side note, I always want to spell peer pressure Pier Pressure because of Arrested Development.) Just checked out her twitter and I really need to get back into this cause she has some great live tweets of shows like How To Get Away With Murder and Empire.

2) She was scared to be on Parks and Rec- So this is kind of a weird way to phrase this. On Seth Meyers she mentioned that she wasn't an improvisor before the show. She was just a comedian, but she was kind of scared to do improv on the show and intimidated by Amy Poehler and everyone... but she did it and she killed it! She was amazing as Donna. I feel like the show improved a lot when they expanded her role, she really added a lot to the show. She was a perfect counterpart to Tom Haverford and her interactions with the guys on the show were funny. And her scenes with April and Ann were always really funny. I loved the episode where April was trying to figure out what kind of dog she was and she was offended. I loved seeing her with Craig at the end of the series... she was just amazing.

3) She's real- I feel like a lot of people say this about her, but she is real. I feel like I've mentioned this before, but like when she was on How Did This Get Made she was watching Spice World... which basically if you aren't like my age and the Spice Girls weren't everything to you... is completely unwatchable. She mentioned she couldn't really watch it because of the ridiculous tour bus... but she went on anyway and she was one of the best guests of that show in my opinion. Idk if thats exactly an example of "She's real" is the right way to describe this... but thats the best way I can think of.

4) She made Donna Meagle super relatable and fun- Recently a bunch of my friends have started watching Parks and Rec and they pretty much all go "I love Donna. I want to be her." And we kind of strive for that in our daily lives. I don't think any other actor or comedian would be able to play Donna quite as well as she does and really bring the level of fabulousness that Donna has to the role. She is just awesome at it and everything she does is awesome!

5) She's from Jersey- Anyone from Jersey is cool with me.

Good job being awesome Retta!

Treat yo'self to her twitter page!

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
