Scribbles about TV: 2nd week of March 2015

Big TV week for me... as I couldn't do much else lol.

On Sunday I watched some more Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt... I finished it last week... but I'm going to keep watching it again and again because I love it so much. I also kind of want to write for it someday maybe... lol. So better watch it a lot now.

I also watched Bobs Burgers, Brooklyn 99 and Last Man On Earth. All amazing shows, really digging fox's comedy line up. I don't like The Simpson's or Family guy... but these are great. The Last Man on Earth is a show that is very unexpectedly amazing. I thought "how could they have a show of just the last man on earth... but the end of every episode does have an exciting twist that makes me very excited for the next episode. I love it. Its really good. Kristen Schaal also does live tweets and stuff, which is really cool. I like it a lot.

On Monday I watched last weeks Better Call Saul and Jane the Virgin and this weeks Better Call Saul. I sprained my ankle, so I was actually in a lot of pain and I'll definitely need to re-watch this week's Better Call Saul... but Mike is one of my favorite characters from Breaking Bad and I'm really happy he's in this spin off and that we got to see another side of him.

Tuesday I watched New Girl. It was a repeat... but it was a repeat of my favorite episode... so I was happy to watch it. I also watched Mindy Project with Stephen Colbert as a guest star... it was fantastic. I'm upset Mindy is having a boy. I hope she ends up having a girl cause... I always want people to have a girl. Lol. There is also a study or something that says that usually when someone on a tv show has a baby, its a boy. So I want more baby girls on tv.

I forget if I mentioned this last week... but I watched the end of Borat which is really funny still and the beginning of Role Models... which is a really underrated movie. It was like my favorite when it came out and its still really really good and I love it. David Wain who directed Wet Hot American Summer directed it... he's one of the funniest people. I'm a big fan. Its really good. I love the movie and I may watch the full movie this week... if its somewhere I can get to on my shelf.

I also watched a little of Tosh.0... this I have similar feelings as I do to Jimmy Kimmel. Daniel Tosh is really funny and the show isn't unfunny at all... it just isn't really my cup of tea. I love the idea of it, I love viral videos... but meh. A lot of people obsess over this show and I'm just not into it. I just watch it because its before Kroll Show. Which I also watched... I'm actually watching it as I write this. This is such a great show... I'm sad its ending but I'm excited because I know there will be more from this. I am really loving Body Bouncers... Chelsea Peretti is one of my favorite people... she's really really funny. I love Jon Daily too... just sooo funny. And Reff Jeff. So great. And Aziz... soooo much great in this episode. Lol.

I also watched a few things as I was falling asleep/while I was asleep but I figured I might as well mention them. I didn't want to fall asleep too much because I didn't want to roll over and hurt my ankle, so I put on The Comedy Central Roast of James Franco before I went to bed. I really liked this even though I don't love roasts. I liked that they got real comedians to do this instead of just actors that knew James Franco. Its also kind of funny for a few other reasons... they poked a lot of fun at Nick Kroll, Aziz Ansari, Natasha Leggero, Andy Samberg and Bill Hader... and I feel like they've all been pretty successful since then. Andy has a Golden Globe for Brooklyn 99, which is also doing pretty well and was renewed for season 3. Nick Kroll had Kroll Show and he's dating Amy Poehler, which automatically bumps him up to sexiest man on earth. Bill Hader is Stephon, one of the best SNL characters ever and he's done movies since then... idk he's kind of a big deal now I think. Natasha Leggero may not be a huge deal, but she was on at midnight a lot last year and she's touring a lot. And Aziz has has 2 stand up specials now, and a tv show that just ended... I'm sure he'll have another coming up and a book. Also Jonah Hill, probably the most successful person on the stage, other than Franco, was not super funny. He was funny... but idk. He seemed afraid to make fun of anyone other than Sarah Silverman. He wasn't bad or anything... he didn't stink or bomb or anything, I just felt like he was the least funny. And I love Jonah Hill, he's a hero of mine comedy wise... but not the best at Stand Up I thought. That was a long thing. I just thought this wad funny and worth investigation I guess.

Also while I was trying to fall asleep in the morning I saw that Mad About You was on... and I'm mentioning that in an upcoming post, so I won't talk to much about it. Also I was asleep for most of it, but this is a pretty underrated show right? It was a funny show and now its mostly known as Phoebe's sister Ursula's show. And then In Living Color came on... again I was asleep for most of it, but the theme song is good and I heard some of a funny Star Trek sketch. Then Parks and Rec came on and I slept through most of that also, but I woke up when the first Louis CK episode was on... so that was a nice surprise.

There was also some weird stuff with the late night shows this week. Late Night and The Tonight Show were repeats, so I watched those on Monday, but I didn't really want to hear outdated jokes all week, so I switched back to Comedy Central, which is all new. Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer were on The Daily show on Tuesday and that was nice. And I really Like At Midnight and Willmore... so thats good too!

Speaking of Abbi and Illana... Broad City was really really great last night. I feel like its going to become a huge hit because of that episode. I already love it, its already kind of a hit... but they have been promoting it a lot this week and they had 3 amazing guests on this weeks episode. Alia Shawkat aka Maebe Funke was on as a love twintrest of Illana. Lol. You can get my pun there if you know what these two ladies look like. Kelly Ripa played a "broad city" version of herself... and was absolutely amazing in it. She was wayyyy funnier than I would have expected her to be and it was just really amazing altogether. And David Wain, director of some of my favorite movies was in it also. So yeah, it was a really really funny episode.

I also watched some repeats of The Goldbergs that I hadn't seen before that were on... This is probably my favorite ABC comedy. Its funny. And I watched the repeat of Modern Family, which I had seen but nothing else was on... and it was a good episode. And also the Blackish Blooper special... I wasn't a fan. I mean it was more than just a half hour blooper reel, the cast talked about some of their favorite moments of the show, and I guess it is a different alternative to another repeat, and they've shown a lot of their repeats already... I think there have been 2 or 3 marathons of the show and its only in its first season... so it makes sense to not show another repeat and show a special instead... so I guess that was a good thing.

And I watched Grey's Anatomy and Scandal! Grey's was really good this week. Scandal was really good too. I didn't think Scandal was the greatest of recently... but it was still really good and the end was pretty exciting I thought. It was really well done and well directed and edited and everything. They were both super good!

And I just watched Shark Tank. I love Shark Tank! Lol.

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...
