Scribbles About TV: Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Season 3

I was really excited for this season after the cliffhanger ending of last season where we find out Kimmy is actually married to the Reverend... and I was hoping that it wouldn't just resolve that problem right at the beginning of the season... but it would let us linger with that a little bit... and it did pretty much let us linger! Not much was resolved with that... and it was interesting.

This season was maybe a little bit darker than the first 2 seasons... it was still equally funny but it did kind of touch on the darker subjects that we knew were there... but the tone of the show kind of made it seem different. I don't know it just seemed like we got more insight into what happened in the bunker this year.

And I think this season might actually be my favorite because of that partially. There was also a lot of Titus... and I just think they did really well with this season. I was a little bit worried because it was also season 3 of Grace and Frankie and I've mentioned how I felt about that... This just improved on the characters and all the character relationships. We got to see more of Jaquelin with the other characters and her story this year was really powerful...she was really funny. We saw Gretchen as a cult leader... Cindy as a Bunker saleswoman and a seemingly more together Kimmy... it was just kind of a creative way of showing how different all the characters were from Season 1... yet they're all still very much the same.

I liked that Kimmy was in college too. I love Daveed Diggs obviously... so I was super happy to see him on the show. I was also happy Xan was back... that's Jaquelin's former step daughter she was really funny in Season 1 and I felt like the show was missing something without her... I just thought everything with the College story was really well done. It showed how Kimmy had come so far... and yet still wasn't quite over the traumatic experience that happened to her... which is understandable.

And Titus... he was just so funny this season... with the Lemonade and the Boobs and California song and the Linda thing... so so funny... he's just really really great on the show. I really loved his thing this season as well!

So yeah! Overall loved this season... I think this or the first season might be my favorite... I liked Season 2 also... but not quite as amazing in my book as this season. Not nearly as memorable... besides Tina Fey's part. But definitely recommend the series!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
