Scribbles About TV: Master of None Review

There are going to be a lot of TV reviews coming up because a lot of shows are coming back on Netflix... Master of None just came back, Kimmy Schmiddt is coming back next week... I watched another show that's been around for a while that no one talks about and the show Downward Dog is coming on... so those are all things that I'm going to talk about very soon... I think I'm going to post something about the shows that got cancelled recently as well... and maybe I'll post that before this... so look for that... I think I probably posted it on Friday... if not it'll be here soon! I'm not linking it right now lol.

Anyway... this is a show that I really like from Netflix and I have to say... I think I liked Season 2 even better. I love how Netflix has been sort of doing episodes of their shows really highlighting all the best things about the particular city... and this did such a great job not just with New York, but with Italy as well... I think the I love New York episode was brilliant... but the episodes in Italy were a lot of fun too. It was like the San Fransisco episode from Girlboss... it was a unique way of showing different people in New York that have NOTHING to do with the show inside the show. I love when shows do that- Master of none is great at giving us a lot of information about characters that we don't even know that don't have the most interesting stories... and just making their own stories really unique and just really good. That was some great storytelling!

I liked the new things too... There were lots of new characters and new things to do. Italy was new, Clash of the Cupcakes was new, Franchesca, Pino Nona, Chef Jeff... lots of new things were going on and it didn't neglect the old things. All of Dev's friends were there still... not quite as much as Season 1- but they still had a full episode dedicated to Denise and her family... they still had a side story with Brian's Dad... Arnold had some great character development even... they didn't cheapen out on the older characters by adding all of these new characters. And it makes sense with that's how time kind of works. One year you're hanging out with all your friends every single night... the next year you just see a few of them every once and a while. It was sweet that they showed Denise and Dev as Friends since they were kids... there were a lot of great moments.

Franchesca... I liked her story I think... I like her as a character... maybe that wasn't what I was thinking would happen at the beginning of the season... but again- that kind of happened differently with Rachel in Season 1 too. It gets more dramatic near the end of the season... I just liked that.

I didn't go back and re-watch the first season... and I feel like maybe I should have. There was a lot I was sort of missing from the show that I didn't quite remember from Season 1... that might have helped a little bit... but I thought it was cool to watch the series with fresh eyes and take this season as something totally different with some vague memories from Season 1.

I still thought it was really funny... I think it was both funnier and more dramatic than season 1... so it definitely improved a lot... and overall it was just cool. I would be happy to watch another season! After the sort of disappointment with Season 3 of Grace and Frankie... it's nice to see that this is a little better than the previous few seasons.

Hope you guys liked this! Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
