Throwback Thursday: Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Season 1

Whenever I was watching a new Netflix show- I would always kind of compare it to Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt's first season and see how it stacked up to that... to my surprise... I don't even think this season is my favorite anymore! Maybe I've just seen it so many times... but I don't know... I just think the show has gotten much better since this season and I'm happy about the direction it's gone in. There is always some Pain from Kimmy from the events that happened to her in the Bunker and that carries through each season... but it's present in different ways from the first season... and I kind of love the direction it's gone in... and this season was probably my favorite so far.

Kimmy is a big kid in a grown up world in Season 1... and while she kind of stays the same throughout the show... she is more grown up in Season 3 than at the beginning of the show.

Season 1 always has a special place in my heart because it's just sooo funny. I think Season 3 is a little bit funnier, season 2 was a little bit more of a dark humor... but Season 1 was sort of a dark humor told by the happiest bunny in the universe. So it's very light and positive... while still having the unique humor about what happens after being kidnapped in a bunker for your childhood and all of your adult life.

I like some of the characters that we see mostly in the first season too. We don't see much of Xan or even Donna Maria or Post-Bunker Gretchen in Seasons 2... but they're all in the first season quite a bit and they are really funny characters. We also don't see a ton of Bunker flashbacks in season 2 or 3... but I think we get them in every episode in season 1. That really tells us a lot about how hopeful Kimmy was. She was always trying to find a way out and trying to look for the positive... and that's the Kimmy that we see a lot of in Season 1... and season 3 we kind of see that more positive Kimmy too.

I also really like the actor that plays Logan... I'm really happy that he's on the show Great News now. I liked the episode with Kimmy's stepdad and her half sister... that was pretty funny... and I liked seeing everything for the first time. It was just a really fun world to be introduced to and this was a great little introduction!

So that's my review on the First Season... hope you guys like it!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
