Chart Chat 8.21.17

Onto the Chart Chat! I wanted to write this last night... but it was pretty late when I got home... so I just couldn't do it!

10) Wind River- Something tells me this movie is going to be complained about for being insensitive... maybe not though. It's about a murder investigation on a Native American reservation. It stars Jeremy Renner... who stars in every movie that's ever been released in August as far as I know... idk. I'm not the biggest fan of Jeremy Renner... I just idk. It does sound like the movie Witness with Harrison Ford... which is also a terrible movie if you ask me... lol. I know it got good reviews... but it was just kind of weird. Anyway yeah... number 10 on the charts- probably not a wide released movie... hopefully they were sensitive to other cultures in this. I'll check out reviews before watching it on TV.

9) The Dark Tower- This isn't off the charts yet, huh? This is one I'll maybe watch in a "Shannon watches things that annoyed her on Chart Chat" type of deal.

8) Girls Trip- This seems to be "The good time" movie of the summer. Everyone I see on facebook posts right after about how much they loved it. Amazing cast... anyone else super excited that Jada Pinkett Smith is in a lot of things now? I really liked her on Gotham... idk if she's still on that or not- but she was really good! I stopped watching it... I think I watched an episode last year though and she was on it... so I dunno... but she's good. And Queen Latifah is always good!

7) Spider Man: Homecoming- I've mentioned Spider Man is slowly becoming my favorite superhero... I think they're doing another animated show also and I think Zendaya is on that animated show also... if I'm not mistaken? Not sure- I watched Duck Tales on Disney XD and I saw a commercial for it.

6) The Emoji Movie- I feel like this is another movie parents don't really want to see or bring their kids to. I was a little surprised it was so low... but then I was like "ehhh, idk if I would want to take my kids to see that. Lol." It doesn't really look like a movie adults would like either... it isn't like Wreck it Ralph or something... idk. I want to see it still... but maybe it's not the best. Lol.

5) The Nut Job 2: Nutty By Nature- This movie again... idk if I'd really want to take my kids to see it... and it definitely doesn't look like anything that adults would like... the previews for this looked better than the first... but what a weird movie.

4) Dunkirk- I still want to see this because my grandfather would have loved it... I'm happy it's still doing well... I probably won't get to see it... but it's good.

3) Logan Lucky- I thought they were re-releasing Logan... but no lol. Idk what this is... but apparently it's the second best movie that opened this weekend... or at least the 2nd most popular. No idea what this is about... I'll find out next week cause I don't feel like looking it up right now. Lol.

2) Annabelle: Creation- Surprised this isn't number 1 again this week... but I didn't know what the #1 movie is about anyway... so I'm not very up to date on these movies I guess. I'm scared of this... but I want to see it. It looks good.

1) The Hitman's Bodyguard- Idk what this is about either... I think I remember seeing commercials for it... I will look it up next week because I just don't feel like it right now... lol. I'm sure it's good... it sounds exciting. It's something I'd see.

PSA- Eclipse starts in 44 minutes on the East Coast at the time I'm posting this! Be careful- avoid outside if you can- do not look directly at it if you do not have the right type of glasses to go with it. Have fun and be safe. I wanted to vlog it... but it can damage your phone too... so I'll vlog my reaction and stuff.

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
