Throwback Thursday: Lady Gaga's Born This Way

Sooo I'm really excited because at the end of August I'm seeing Lady Gaga in concert... so I'm like "Ohhh I need to listen to Gaga like all month!" So that I can appreciate the concert more... I've been wanting to see Gaga forever and Born This Way is my favorite... I've listened to it about a million times... but I haven't heard it recently so... I needed to listen to it again and see if it stacked up. And it pretty much did.

The weird thing though... I always kind of think of this as a perfect album... but there are so many songs I don't totally "LOVEEEEEEEE" on this. I like Bloody Mary a lot... don't love it. Electric Chapel might be my favorite of the "eh" songs... Highway Unicorn is kind of up there... I could do without the Jesus is the New Black" song... Bad Kids I think I liked when I just listened to it... but I didn't really remember it and even now I'm like "hmm... idk about this." I didn't love Marry The Night when I first heard it... but now I kind of love it... it's been stuck in my head for the last few days and I just really like it. The Queen and Fashion of His Love are also kind of ehh... I remember fashion of his love and I like it... but ehhhh.

I think some of the most underrated songs are on this album too. I really like Government Hooker, Americano, Scheibe, Hair... these are all really great songs that no one really talks about. I loveeee these! These are some of my favorite songs.

The singles might be her most iconic also... the first big Lady Gaga song was Poker Face really... I think Just Dance was her first single... but Poker Face was when people were like "this chick is good!"... but really Born This Way is what I think of when I think of Lady Gaga! It's a great song and that's what she wants to be known for. She wants to tell people "Heyyy you were born this way. You're perfect the way you are." And that's a pretty damn cool thing.

You and I and Judas were also great singles from this album too! You and I was Gaga's first big genre change and it really worked for her... not every singer can really do that... she's very talented to be able to re-invent herself with every album. One of the reasons why I love her so much... so I think that is really cool.

This was also when Gaga was big into very big production movie-style music videos. They had some great videos and I used to love watching her videos! I'd always get excited for a new one!

I think that is just about all I have to say about it... which isn't a whole lot really... but I still loved it. Can't pick a favorite song from it... but most of them are better than okay... so I'm happy with it and I'm excited for this concert!!!

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
