Scribbles About Music: Throwback Thursday Edition XO by Fall Out Boy (From Under The Cork Tree)

Happy New Year! 2017 is going to be great! I've got a lot of stuff planned... some things already written and its going to be fun! I'm excited!

So we'll start the New Year with the last Scribbles About Music Throwback Thursday Edition... for a while at least and that is XO by Fall Out Boy! The last song on From Under The Cork Tree, and one of my favorites!

This is almost a little like the "dark and scary" songs that I usually like. In fact, I think during one of their concerts they played either this or I Slept With Someone in FOB and they had a video on a projection of centipedes and gross things... really not sure which one it was right now... but it freaked me out a little, but it was fitting!

This is another one I'm kind of pausing to listen to the whole song while I'm writing because I just like it so much. I really love it. Its kind of deep and meaningful, but it sort of tells a story and its sad angry. It also brings the Keyhole, which is a big symbol on the CD artwork itself into the story too... which is cool.

I like the lines like "I left my conscious pressed in between the pages of the bible in the drawer"  and "love never wanted me, but I took it anyway." It kind of adds to the sadness and the low-feeling of the song and makes it more emotional. It's ranty but in a good way I guess. Its a song you can just turn on when you're really angry and scream out... even though it isn't really a screamo song. Its a good one.

So, that is it! I hope you liked these throwbacks... I had fun listening to the CD and these throwback thursdays might be my favorite thing to write... so I think I'm keeping them through all of 2017 at least... especially since I have a lot written and planned since August.

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
